I can recall when they were made by Lowney's, the originating manufacturer, who had a Canadian branch plant that made the Canadian production.
When I was small, my mom would, once a week drop me, and later me and my sister, tospend the day at my paternal Grandma's.
Then mom would drop my dad at his workplace, and then use the sole car to do the run around for her mom and our weekly's.
General groceries, butcher, bakery and green grocer was the weekly shopping.
Then later when Dominion supermarket came to town she just shopped at that one new shop.
My grandpa would head out about 10am , and walk down to have a beer with his old war vet pals at the Legion in the centre of the town.
He would be back by 1pm to have a late lunch.
And often would bring me a Lowney's Cherry Blossom bought from a corner store on his walk back home.
As a treat which we would split in a messy manner.
Wow, how some things both bring back memories and at the same time make you feel old, because all of this was circa 1970.
