Rick Sanchez fired from CNN - Jon Stewart A 'Bigot,' Jews Run CNN & All

As is not infrequently the case there does seem to be more to the story, and in context what he said changes a bit.
According to The Associated Press:
Jon Stewart frequently poked fun of Sanchez (who is Cuban-American) on his program referring to a tweet Sanchez had received earlier this week from House Republican leader John Boehner as a case of "send a twit a tweet."
In a satellite radio interview with Pete Dominick, Sanchez said "He's [Stewart] upset that someone of my ilk is almost at his level," and that Stewart "can't relate to what I grew up with," saying his family had been poor and he had seen prejudice directed at his father. And that Stewart is bigoted toward "everybody else that's not like him."
When Dominick said that Stewart, as a Jew, is also a member of a minority group.
Sanchez said "I'm telling you that everyone who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart, and a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart, and to imply that somehow they, the people in this country who are Jewish, are an oppressed minority? Yeah."

I can. And very, very, very unwise.
Next time I'm in front of 1 of my less favourite judges, I'll tell him / her that the reason they're on the Bench is because he /she is Jewish and we'll see what the Law Society does to my ass right afterwards.
Neither can I. I think it is ridiculous to call Jon Stewart a bigot, he is generally un-threatening kind of comic. But to say that jews are not discriminated against in the US entertainment industry can hardly be just cause for dismissal.
The new show that's going to replace Sanchez's is Parker & Spitzer. Yup, Elliot Spitzer, the Governor busted paying $10k/session with an NYC hooker while married is back and in showbiz!

He attacks people from all sides, left, right and centre.
I think Rick was getting sick of the jabs that Stewart took at Rick sometimes.

Aren't the right-wingers pro jewish? They are among the most ardent supporters of Isreal.
Indeed Mr. Sanchez's statement was unwise, as would be the above as well.
That said he does have a point that in 2010 stating there is great prejudice towards Jews in the the U.S. (or Canadian) television industry is beyond the limits of the truth. That said I entirely agree that his comments were likely hurtful, but firing him due to them?!
Stewart is a bigot. He insults born again christians, rednecks and rural people. You can say that those groups deserve to be ridiculed, but never the less you are being bigoted in your belief
