so you know it is just luck or coincidence, 100% of the time that premonitions are reported? Talk about blind faith in rationality. Glad you have an open mind.
Of course it's just luck or coincidence, yer berk! Think how much would change, if you were right.

Many of you here are very sure of yourselves. I'm just trying to keep an open mind......as Socrates said about the self proclaimed wise man, "He knows nothing, and thinks that he knows. I neither know nor think that I know."

Yes because it ignores the 50,000,000% of the time when premonitions don't come true and aren't reported. Don't tell me you believe in fortune cookies and horoscopes too (though it would explain a few things).

There is plenty of EVIDENCE pertaining to the spiritual realm.

Too funny.

For the record...
There is zero evidence pertaining to the spiritual realm. ZERO. Is that clear enough for you? ZERO. NONE. NADDA. ZIPPO. ZILCH. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. You can claim there is. You can insist there is. It does not change the FACT. There is no evidence.
If you think otherwise, you are truly ignorant and it is pointless to debate you.

For pete's sake. It saddens me to observe the lack of rudimentary common sense and intelligence in our world.

It saddens me to see the arrogance and false bravado on this board....see post #67

....the universe is perhaps more amazing than you think....and just maybe, you don't know all there is to know, but by all means, go on beating your chest....it makes for divine comedy

wigglee... I assure you, the universe enthrals me. I am also open to all the amazing possibilities. I am well aware of how little I know. The little bit I know includes the fact that there is NO EVIDENCE of what you are claiming. Divine comedy indeed.

I had a premonition that you'd say that. Now I believe that religion is well supported with evidence and science is based only on faith.

There can be no understanding of the universe if your bible is your textbook.

Let's put it this way...a committed atheist is similar to a fundamentalist religious person because he believes fervently that there definitely is no god....I am agnostic, by the way, and I have no problem with evolution. I do have a problem with fundamentalist religions ( be they Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Sikh, or whatever) because of the wars, prejudice and dissension they foster throughout the world.

What did the dyslexic, agnostic insomniac do last night? He just lay awake wondering if there really is is a dog.

I disagree a atheist arrives at a conclusion based on an examination of facts, religious belief is based on ignoring facts.

Not an atheist but a scientist. I don't dispute religion and higher powers. I just recognize they have nothing to do with science, fact, or evidence.

What is the "only based on Faith?"

This seems a bit like arguing over which is “real” Direct Current or Alternating Current.

There can be no understanding of the universe if your bible is your textbook.
What is "understanding the Universe" how gravity attracts or what the world is about. Using the Bible to attempt to understand the former is silly, discarding the Bible while attempting to understand the later is just as silly.

Only for those who place faith in the factuality of the bible. As I keep saying, religion and science are two very different areas. Believe in both if you want but they have nothing to do with each other.

The bible is an instructional fairy tale on how to behave. The only thing it teaches us is about how fucked up man is and how we really want to be treated like children not accept that the only help were going to get is from ourselves. Put me in the Hitchin's camp. Faith is a misguided attempt to avoid responsibility for our actions, even if there is a god it has become perfectly clear that the almighty has left us to our own devices.
