The current party of the now former sorest loser in chief is entirely situational. There is no core philosophy other than catering to their fearless leaders ego and pocketbook. In fact the official platform of the GOP is now whatever the now former epidemiologist in chief say it is.

Every successful political movement needs a bad guy, a prosecuting enemy and that goes for the left as it goes for the right. The lefties are playing right into the Trump's hands and almost ensuring his candidacy in 24.

Right result for the wrong reason. How bi-partisan of them...

He was soundly beaten in 2020 what makes you think as a more senile, battered older Trumpfart he stands a chance in 2024? My guess is Desantis will be the chosen one to run but it's still early.

It's a brilliant strategy, isn't it?

The thoroughly discredited old fool was beaten in 2020. In 2024, he'll run against the January 6 riot and the more extremist GOP. He'll increasingly lose the urban, suburban, educated and younger vote and his margin of loss will be far, far larger. The Dems have it all figured out.

And best part is that his base thinks he won last time so will win again.

Because the system is a screwy one which means anyone who wins the primary has a chance. I'd say his odds of winning if he got the nod would be a little less than 50%, maybe closer to 45, which is way too close to be cocky about it.

I would really come down to who is running for the Dems. I don't believe it will be Biden.

Unless the system does a quantum leap and the electorate changes.

If the GOP is no longer a mainstream party by 2024 , outside the South and the inland West, the whole process is suddenly totally different.

I don't think we're anywhere near that point. Besides, the south and the inland west is still enough to win the presidency with just a slip elsewhere and more than enough to control the Senate.

The GOP cannot win without the electoral college and voter suppression. They are a party without any ideas or agenda other than to cater to the ego of their fearless leader, the now former only twice impeached POTUS who lost the WH, the House and the Senate and to who all must still pay fealty. The deplorable are lining up to do so.

Yes, but they have both those things is my point.
If there was a straight national election, Trump being the nominee in 2024 isn't much of a danger. With the system in place though, it is.

Which is why there are so many bills out to make voting much more difficult.

I guess the usual Four More Years Chant is back. Wishful thinking if the Republican Party can stay intact. Cracks are beginning to extend in the Foundation!!
