I think there'll be a HUGE rush for services such as haircuts and SP visits. I might have to wait just a few more weeks after re-opening for those services.
Definitely getting a haircut first. My hair hasn't been this long since the late 70s.

Shockingly irresponsible.

Here’s one gem from their website:
Oh please. Do you expect or actually want your employer to report your health status to public health? That's a hell no from me. My health, my body, my responsiblity.

No, but I would hope the lady would be suspended from working by the spa or the agency until she showed proof to management of a negative Covid test after the appropriate amount of time had passed since her infection was discovered.

It's official! Toronto & Peel region are moving to Stage 2 on Wednesday. We will be updating our schedule tonight to indicate which SPs are ready to come back (though I should mention that many are not) and we'll reopen our booking line as of today for prebookings.

The following restrictions will be in place for at least the first two weeks:

Client restrictions:
- We will not be arranging any bookings for unverified clients. Might as well get this out of the way at the start; if you haven't booked with us before, then you need a reference, a terb handle with a decent posting history, or an active and visible Twitter handle. No exceptions; we need to be able to contact you if you've been in contact with an SP who tests positive for COVID-19, and we need to trust that you'll contact us if you test positive at a later time.

We recognize that many clients will not be comfortable with this, but these are not normal times, and the risks that both clients and SPs are taking are higher today than they were in the past. Internal contact tracing is a must for all businesses that are reopening, and we will not excuse ourselves or our clients from that responsibility.

- Multiple bookings in one day will not be permitted.
- Duos will not be offered for at least the first two weeks, possibly longer.
- Any indication of COVID-19 symptoms will result in an SP refusing to see you. If you're not feeling 100%, please DO NOT risk it.

SP restrictions:
- SPs will only be offering services in our downtown Toronto locations.
- 1hr minimums for all bookings will apply.
- The SPs are in the process of updating their pages to reflect any service adjustments, but as of now, none of our SPs have indicated that masks will worn, or required. If an SP chooses to require a mask, this information will be clearly marked on her page, and we will inform any clients who request to see her of that requirement when the booking is made.
- SPs will not be working on back-to-back days. This will reduce the exposure to clients if an SP is seeing clients in the presymptomatic stage (which appears to be 1-2 days), and later develops symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
- SPs will have longer than normal gaps between clients, as well as per-day maximums. SPs will also be working in more clearly-defined shifts, as per our website.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and respond to the political and public health-related changes and recommendations as things continue to develop. We will make adjustments as required, and will consistently and regularly reassess our policies to strike the proper balance between safety and risk. This will be the last post that we make on this thread.

Thank you to everyone for your continued patience, and we look forward to resuming services in the coming days. :)

Thanks,
Nikki

I appreciate all the agencies and providers taking precautions in re-opening their services in line with Ontario’s phase 2. But with all due respect, how do these precautions effectively mitigate the spread of COVID? Despite temperature checks, symptom checks and sanitizers, the nature of the service will result in two people being closer than 2 feet away from one another and likely face to face in close proximity to one another. The hobby can’t be compared to grocery shopping or some other retail service where there may be a separation of two people by plexiglass or limited body contact. I think that there is still a high risk of transmission or am I missing something?

I don't know how they are allowed to open under phase 2?

Agencies can take millions of precautions but eventually people will catch it. I fear for people who will bring the virus home unknowingly to people who have weak immunity and it can get pretty ugly.

Either you are in or you are not. Nothing in-between. The hobby has changed.

Has anyone gone for a haircut today? Made an appointment at my usual place online and just wondering what to expect tomorrow, I will be going in with a mask as has been recommended.

I had a haircut yesterday. It looked like winter had returned around the chair with all my white hair on the floor.

I was asked at the reception to read and sign a form of Covid-related questions to which I replied in the negative. They had my phone number, and did not ask for further personal information.

The receptionist took my forehead temperature with an infra-red touchless thermometer. My own mask broke while I was walking in the mall, so she gave me one of theirs. She sprayed my hands with dsinfectant.

My barber was wearing a mask. He put a clear thin plastic garbage bag type thing with holes for my head and arms, over my head instead of the usual barber cloth.

He then washed my hair and cut it very nicely. Less than the usual amount of conversation but that suited me fine.

When I got out of the chair he took off the plastic protective bag and immediately disposed of it.

Then I ran out without paying....not! (Actually I gave him a double tip for all the extra hoopla and the longer spacing between clients they have to do.)

My regular MPA is also a qualified non-practicing nurse. I told her to let me know when she thinks it is okay. We've had some wild sessions, never the same twice, but it's always been super important to me that she feels safe. And honestly, a session doesn't even have to involve sex. She's a fun person to just talk to.
