I think there's a misunderstanding here. I might not have used the perfect phrasing, but it feels like I'm getting grouped in with past users who didn't contribute. I'm just a new guy trying to get my bearings. No offense intended. Cheers!
Now personally, I'm an advocate of cordiality and I'm not particularly keen on bashing newcomers seeking information myself. But that said, lately I'm more understanding of this kind of reaction the more I converse with providers, and the more of their tales I hear about unsavoury types entering into the hobby. Hell, we just recently had a well liked SP make a post detailing her unpleasant experiences with various assholes harassing them. Understandably I imagine as a result of stuff like this, people here are going to be more apprehensive of whom they provide information to, out of a desire to protect and spare providers from having to deal with more potential twats. Hell, I've straight ignored DMs I've received in the past asking for info because the user in question just gives off a bad vibe with the way they approach me.
Want my two cents? Scour the listings, pick out what you like (and use the correct head with this, because there are fakes), and search names and numbers up to verify for yourself. That's what I did when I started this hobby, and I've managed to have more good experiences than bad this way.
