As a beginner, you should be using the search function and looking what guys took the time and effort to write. That is, do the upfront work yourself.
You're obviously not in a position in life where people come to you for help. I am. First thing I say is, "What have you done to help yourself?". This eliminates 90% of the time wasters. You should try asking yourself that question first.

I did use the search and read existing posts. Asking questions is part of learning. If you don’t want to help, just move on. Writing a long reply just to lecture someone is a bigger waste of time than my question. I’m not interested in wasting my time on people like that.
Dude I understand you, but you do this alot... and well... this is a forum that is mostly kind of dead to begin with, why are we complaining about these types of posts? Sometimes a new gem appears in posts like these that I would have never found otherwise.
Yes but I spent the first few weeks searching and getting a feel for who posts, the best way to search, and what terms to use. I didn't expect others to do the work for me. Some are like that.
You could find these by searching with key words and the like. I mean, all the OP had do do was search for "recommendations" or "reviews". Nah, instead he said, "hey randos of the internet, I won't tell you what I like or anything like that but please take your time to give me recommendations so I don't have to do any work. " We're not OPs mommies.
I’m definitely not trying to treat anyone like Google! I’m actually brand new to the area and just trying to get a feel for how the local platforms work. I noticed this forum is pretty quiet and that a lot of people seem to use the 'other blue page' instead. Because there aren't standard posting formats here to share details like budget or general location, I was just hoping for a quick starting point.

It's "dead" here (should have seen a few years go...) because because 99% lurk and only 1% post and out of that 1%, only 10% of that actually provide reviews & information. Where are you going to fit in? Why get all butt-hurt about not getting something without giving something back?
Everyone wants something for nothing. What I'm really suggesting is (1) figure out a way you can contribute around here.
Also, and this is important, I'm not going to send some asswipe-wackjob-waste-of-good-skin-fucktard (it's a technical hockey term) to a woman I like. That's really bad for her and she's going to think less of me. That doesn't help me in anyway.
So (2), provide some sort of evidence with post history that you're not a asswipe-wackjob-waste-of-good-skin-fucktard and hey, here are my suggestions to see that may not easily find on LL or Tryst. Everyone has their gems that they want to help out by directing business their way.

Be like @produce25. He lurked here for awhile, read the reviews, found out who's good, bad, what-ever, noticed that Nena at Sakura sounds great, easy to go to, lots of positive reviews. He decided hey! I'm going to go, and provide the forum a positive review of her. Good times. A good approach.
Merely my own opinion and suggestion.
