The word in the Chicago papers this morning was that this was addition by subtraction, and that the Bulls had long wanted to move Rose. No one doubts Jalen Rose's talent, but he was a selfish player, and the Bulls are committed to rebuilding around Chandler and Curry, not around Rose. But he is a reliable scorer, which will help the Raptors.

Hey Red North

there's a rumour about MO-Pete for Othella Harington which would be useless since they don't need anymore short under size power forwards, they need a centre. I hope they don't make that trade.

Also, here's a Quote from Jalen 'it's all about me' Rose

"They're excited about having me," Rose told reporters in Chicago. "Hopefully, it turns out that it will be a great situation for me. "

Unless I reading this wrong, it seems a little selfish right off the bat.

The raptors got the most talented player in this deal in the form of Jalen Rose, but unfortunately Jalen is a malcontent. For the past 10 yrs, he's been a 'me' first kind of player driving coaches crazy. But in order to win in the NBA, you need talent and Jalen is talented but can he be a 'team' first type of player. If he can, then it's a great trade, if not, then he'll be another headache for 4 more years.
Well said. Jalen Rose is simply one of the purest players I have ever seen play the game. His jump shot is exquisite. But sadly, his atttitude sucks.

Voshon Leonard can't play defense and shot the ball too much, that's why the raps didn't offer him a contract.

.
Voshon Leonard was the Western Conference player of the week?

so much for what the raps brass think........Mo Pete was close behind in 187th spot.

Part of the trade was an addition by subtraction. AD good riddens ... Power forward shooting @ 40%. Not too many of those. I liked JYD for energy and rebounding but he had to go to balance the salaries. Jeffries is a throw in.

Rose can be good when he wants to ... will he play in to the team concept? Marshall should average atleast 14pts-8reb and if Baxter can surprise with quality minutes ... they may not have to rely too much on Moiso in the rotation.

WuuuHaa

So far so good.........didn't catch the whole game....had to work, but it sounds like the moves worked.....Marshall was dominant, in the presence of Vince and Rose.

Let's see how goes tomorrow against the Celtics

It was a very enjoyable game to watch....parts of it were fluid.

Rose didn't do that well, 8 assist and 5 turnovers, but he didn't force things which is great.

The only problem is they are getting killed rebounding (18 offensive vs 8 for raptors), and the sixers are not considered a good rebounding team. Hopefully the smalls will step up and help out with the rebounding....that means less fast breaks though....

well at least VC will get more assist with the new team

they really need a centre for defense and rebounds especially when they play western teams

mo pete

...but not for Othella Harington....he's horrible and he can't play centre

....maybe for Nazzi Mohamet (sp) or Adonal Foyal...i would trade sweet pete

Tonight's game was great to watch as a fan b/c it was fun.....but there's so many problems that need to be corrected

1) The raps are still a jump shooting team even after the trade...except they've been making the shots now ...17 threes...they have trouble scoring inside.... no one except for vince on occasion drives to the basket

2) They are getting out rebound huge ...by teams that aren't know for rebounding

3) They've lost some defense after the trade....tonight 51% shooting by boston

4) When they start losing, how will Jalen Rose react - will he be a malcontent

5) When will Lamond Murray be a distraction in the locker room b/c he's not getting any playing time now

6) Bosh....is special....hopefully he doesn't hit the rookie wall hard b/c he's been playing alot of minutes

boards

It looks like it will be Tyrone Hill..........

gotta get some tickets for when Oakley and Washington come to town.

To correct the rebounding they will have to keep 2 of Hill/Baxter/Bosh on the court at all times with 3 of Carter/Rose/Marshall/Williams.....that might work.........

of course that still leaves Peterson/Murray/Curry to sit quite awhile......I know Peterson's lit it up over the last 2 games....that might earn him limited playing time

Hey wrong hole; this is why Mo.Pete gets trade for a big man
How good do you guys think Mo Pete really is? Do you really think anyone would give up any kind of good big man for him? Let's be serious.

IMO, the Hawks or the Warriors would be crazy to trade Mohammed or Foyle, respectively, for Peterson. He is just not that good a player. Does he really do anything more than Stephen Jackson or even Dion Glover on the Hawks or Calbert Cheaney on the Warriors? Maybe a few years ago he could have warranted such a trade, but not now.

Well let"s throw in Lemont Murray as well for anybody seven feet
You really don't understand how trades work do you? The idea is exchange something of value that another party wants for something you want. Nobody wants Peterson or Murray, and they certainly wouldn't trade anyone good for them.

Now tell me who we're going to get to help out Bosh before he runs out of gas?

That is the first sensible thing you have said... Bosh is playing hard but he needs help back there... I am not saying the Raptors don't need inside help, all I am saying is I am doubtful they can get a big man of any quality by trading small forward types like Peterson and Murray (and his name is Lamond, btw). I hope I am wrong because Bosh deserves a better fate.

You're absolutely right homonger, looking around the league, I can't point to a single available big man with bona fide talent - that we could obtain in such a trade.

As far as Bosh goes - Unfortunately his "better fate" will likely come on his next team.
