Euro ball doesn't work in the NBA - and certainly not in the playoffs.

Colangelo had never won anything before he arrived in Toronto, and his Dad had never won anything either, nor has any other Euro type team or coach. Now, if all MLS wanted was an interesting and exciting team that might at some point be a regular season winner, and that will accordingly put fannies in the seats, they might still get that.

But a championship they will not win as currently configured and led.

Sometimes they just good to watch for 3 quarters only. It hurts to watch the 4th quarter as they are not good finishers. Always blow out their lead and lose by less than five points.

I would just say they are a bad team that shows no real signs of becoming a contender in the forseeable future.

<gets on soap box>

Raptor/ Toronto fans are freaking bandwaggoners. The Raps get Colangelo and make it to the playoffs - everybody becomes a fan and expects a championship to come in the following year. Then the team undergoes changes (addition of O'Neal, new coach) and struggles - EVERYBODY PANIC!

Seriously, it almost feels like Toronto fans feel like they're entitled or something. And yes, I am the biggest Toronto fan out there but I just roll my eyes when I see/ hear the fans moan and whine as soon as it doesn't look like a championship is coming this year!? If you were a truly a fan and followed your team, you would understand how complex it is to build a team with all the politics, chemistry and luck required. Bosh was DISGUSTED with Toronto fans when they were booing the Raps and I agree with him. We expect too much too soon.

To win a championship, you BUILD a team. To build a team, you draft/ nurture young talent to their potential. Bargs is legit and you can build the team around him - he will become the next Dirk and Roko has a lot of upside. However, right now, even Bosh is very young. THere's no way this team is going to win a championship this year but if the core stays together and acquire the right missing pieces, they are going to develop into a great team.

Never been a Raptor's fan, so I haven't got hurt jumping off the bandwagon.
Now if Kareena was to play, that would be a different story.
Kareena Abdul Jabar. Has a nice ring to it.

I'm guessing it's a workshop on how to live with the stress of your favourite BBall team watching their season slip by. Just a guess.
*Sigh*... Hank, I'm not having a good week here! And then you decide to bump this thread? JEEEZZZ... do you have to kick me when I'm down?!?!!?

First of all, their season is NOT slipping away, they just don't want to win this year... I get it... it's not that they CAN'T, it's that they CHOOSE NOT TO! 2008-2009 doesn't have as nice a ring to it as 2009-2010! I get it.

And for the last time... SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I am running out of patience here. I told you already, the Raptors might be on TERB. Think about how they feel when they read "Raptors really suck!" where you welcome comments like "I would just say they are a bad team that shows no real signs of becoming a contender in the forseeable future" or "hope they suck forever to the point they move the team".

SERIOUSLY, if Chris Bosh leaves the Raptors... all of Toronto will have you to thank!

FINALLY!

This entire thread was a blatant attempt by me to bring YOU (Kareena) out in the open. It's the first thing that has worked for me in a while. Let the jokes begin.

Stop bumping this RAPTORS SUCK thread no way!, sure the raps won friday, but they will start another losing streak and miss the playoffs

what does the difference between the raptors and a sp you would spend money to see a SP, but not spend money on the Raptors..

They will most definitely make the playoffs. How do I know? Because it's obivous they don't "SUCK" they're just having a little bit of "trouble"... (ftr -for the record, Vince Carter... now HE SUCKS, but that's a whole other conversation...) So what they lost seven games in a row? So what they are having trouble finding the right chemistry? They are still DAMN talented! And seriously though, these poor guys had injuries all season, of course they are having a little bit trouble... but now that Calderon is back, how's about a little faith for the next few games?

Must I remind everyone I am only 23 years old. My english is not that good and so if your going to insult me you can think of some Italian words .. Although 20 pts per game in 2009 means you might start liking me soon ..;)

Right now, I would settle for them getting to 0.500.

As far as Euroball not winning in the NBA, that is a Don Cherry type statement. What do you mean by Euro ball???

If you are talking about the Phoenix Suns type of game, that style of game has been kicked around the NBA for decades, so I would not call it Euroball.

Of all the Toronto teams, the Raps are the most entertaining to watch.

Having said that, Colangelo should be getting some heat for some of the moves he has made especially drafting Bargnani number 1. He isnt a number 1 pick. Eventually will be a decent Player, but wont ever live up to a number 1 pick.

You cant blame him for the team he inherited, but he hasnt changed much of it.

This team for years now hasnt played defence and cant rebound the ball. Hiring Colangelo was going to help that?

Parker, Moon, Graham, Kapono...they all seem the same on the court. They dont seem to have guys who can fill specific roles. When Humphries and Solomon are the guys coming off the becnh, you know youre in trouble. Add in Voskul and you miss the playoffs.

Maybe we are harsh on the Raptors, but its because we expect better especially with a guy like Bosh leading the team. People are going to disagree with me on this, but I think you trade Calderon and Bragnani for Brandon Roy, the guy they should have drafted instead of Bargnani, but Portland wouldnt make that trade which tells you a lot about those two Players.
