You have all services available listed every where on your damn self help sites.

But the fracking reality is that your mail servers are fried. Baked. Gone. Dead.

Sure, I can receive e-mail, but I can't send anything.

You FrackWads, how are customers to do business if you can't keep your service up and running? Any why the Frack do you have to lie about it?
 
Have you tried sending them an email about the problem?

Did this issue just start? Sympatico changed their email system to Secured TLS a while back and began migrating customers to the service.

What is your current Host name for your SMTP server?

Compromised: I am sorry to hear about your e-mail problems. We will try our best to assist you, so that you can have everything up and running normally. (Acknowledgment + reassurance but still no soloution to your problem. Gotta love customer service! ^_^)

Rogers did the same thing with email security.

But did you see the CBC marketplace regarding the highspeed comparisons?

Bell didn't even come close to the up to 7mbps...
 
I had the same problem a couple of months ago. It only took 3 phone calls and a couple of hours to finally get it figured out. :cool:

Jeez you make it sound like Rogers is a backbone provider.. who do you think they eventually connect to to get the world?

Besides evil is evil. Trying to find a good guy between those two companies is like inferring that cow manure somehow tastes better than horse.

I had both services simultaneously for quite a few years and found that making speed comparisons is a bit childish simply because one got faster for a while and then the other would get faster. I currently have the 5 MB service with Bell and it runs around 5.15-5.30 MB, depending on the service of course. I will be upgrading in a few weeks to the 16 MB service, (I believe Bell is already getting ready for another 10 MB jump somewhere in the future). But the speed issue is always going to be a leap frog situation.

However I eventually dropped Rogers for a number reasons. First their email service was constantly going down, second their ability to understand their own nodes was next to none, (twice I had issues where I was able to trouble shoot where the problem in their network was and they did nothing until I started the process of closing my account), finally when you are with Rogers you are on a LAN and it all depends on where you live and the nodes are phenomenally affected by how many people have Rogers internet and/or various cable services.

Most of the companies are going to TLS email security because most companies are moving their mail services to other services such as Hotmail etc. and for obvious reasons you don't want to be sending clear text email to an external email site.

Have been on that for a while now


It is still down. Over 12 hours now. And I get the same canned response. "a special team of senior tech..."

at 12:30 am they are telling me it should be repaired by 6 am saturday.

Weird... one shouldn't expect local issues with email.

Node? You're confusing Bell with Rogers.

You direct connect to the CO with Bell. With Rogers you connect to the local node.

That is why it seems strange because services like email are not based on DSLAM, ie: when the various accounts in this house were migrated to the Secure service it didn't happen by location but by account so it took a couple of weeks, (which was fun having to wait and see which email account was now NOT working!).
