I have a raccoon trap, I’ve caught many and driven them a few kilometres away.

Thanks. I'm looking at a simpler solution. Maybe I'll try one of the suggestions in the link I posted.

BTW: Not our problem but I heard that raccoons have trouble adapting to a new environment.

You gotta becareful, trapping and relocating raccoons is illegal in Ontario.
All it takes is one fucking neighbour to ruin your day.

Many years ago, I bought a raccoon hat complete with tail. Don't know whatever happened to that hat.

True. I would just take them to the highway and let them go. Someone will stop and get them.
Do I get cross thread points?

Right, I heard that it was illegal, but I’m very careful about it, just as careful as I am doing this hobby which is also somewhat illegal, at least certain parts of it is.

I went to my local Home Hardware and the gentleman there said ammonia works.

"A common household product you are most likely to have already in your house is ammonia. This is fantastic because it is another effective, inexpensive method to prevent a raccoon party in your backyard.

Ammonia has an incredibly pungent smell and taste, both of which are offensive to a raccoon’s sense of smell."

I personally rub white vinegar on my garbage bins before I put them out to keep the animals away.

Yep. My xgf has a spray bottle and sprays the inside of the garbage bin and lid especially before taking the garbage out. She's never had any problems since.
She even used some cheap perfume her cousin had got her on a random visit to her place. Her cousin asked her how she liked it and she told her, I don't and neither do the raccoons. lol

Vinegar spray bottle for the win, it has so many uses as most would already know at this point. Great for cleaning glass, must cheaper than Invisible Glass and better than Windex, still also cheaper than Windex.

It's true. An old neighbour of mine use to soak tennis balls in windex and rolled them underneath his deck.

Read that apple cider vinegar is better than white vinegar.

Don't tell anybody but I pour some vinegar in the toilet bowl from time to time.

BTW: Raccoon skin and fur make good hats and coats. Not sure what happened to my raccoon hat complete with the tail.

What happened to good old-fashioned wolf urine? I heard that works well...
We get cougar, instead of wolf, urine at a better price. Just kidding!

Don't tell anybody, but human urine is also somewhat effective.

Cayenne Pepper and water in a spray bottle works with squirrels.

the water helps it stick to surfaces.
