even if Quizno's is overpriced, so is Subway to an extent! paying $7 (on average) for a sandwich is plain nuts. .....
Once again on TERB we see someone complaining about SP's (sandwich provider's) prices. If you only knew how much work it is to always have fresh hot buns not some raggedy low end buns and BLS, it's alot of work to always provide Bacon Lettuce Salami. You could just get a $2 sandwich from a vending machine but you'd probably complain about that SP's prices too or claim B&S when you want the roast beef but get the olive loaf:mad: . Just remember you get what you pay for and YMMV sandwiches (Your Money May Vend Sandwiches)!!!

No one's forcing you to spend $7 on a Sandwich Provider and if you can't afford it don't insult others that can afford $7 SP's.

Quizno's is closing down in many places as well as Mr. Sub.
Quizno's has a quality sub but is overpriced while Mr. Sub just blows.

they taste good, but WAY over-priced.
$12 for a lunch thing one day...FORRRGET IT.
I'll stick to supporting Canadian Mr.Sub as well.
Till they get bought out and there's nothing Canadian left.

Between a rock and a hard place
I discovered Quiznos prices the first time when I had my two daughtrs and a friend with us. $53 later for sandwiches and drinks and two cookies?!? I decided next time I would take groups of three or more for a pizza. Much cheaper. Quiznos is not for the budget minded.

Some comments,
Quizno's being the best? I don't know about that. Their service is not that great. Example, the one east of Yonge St. on Eglinton they hide the napkis and don't give you any unless you ask. When you ask they give you one. I kindly pointed to the table of 4 that I was sitting at and the 60 bucks we just paid them and the girl hesitantly reached for a few more napkins. And guess what? Men's washroom out of toilet paper and looked like it hasn't been cleaned for a few days. You charge so much for a sandwich and have to beg them for napkins and have to bear a smelly dirty toilet?

Then Mr. Sub. Like a true patriot I love supporting Canadian franchises. But from my own experience seems like the worst service is from this franchse. Try going to the Mr. Sub in the mall on the North East side of Sheppard and Yonge St. That older guy with the gray hair and thick accent tops it off. He sneers and makes comments when someone doesn't buy a drink from him. (yes I know they make most of their money off the drinks) Went there a few times and had to put up with comments like "Whatsa matta wit you, no drink?"
Another time he tries to overcharge me and then after I point it out to him he suggests getting a drink or a cookie. I said no thanks I'd like to pay for what I want and that is a sub. This guy is a class act lol.

As for Subway, they are tops. Service most of the times is great. They hire sufficient staff and are fast. My only complaint is that they stopped the sub stamps and have reduced my visits accordingly.

Best sandwich shop is California!!!! Best veal and chicken sandwichs. They are to die for!!! Best one is downtown in a residential zone in the middle of houses. There is one in Woodbridge, Misssissauga and North York and one on Dufferin north of Eglinton. If you haven't been there you are missing out!

Does anybody remember Mario, I recall, the former owner of BellyBusters on Yonge south of YorkMills, "What A Way To Go!" he'd say, and had pictures on the wall of his customers. When he left another guy who wasn't as spirited took over.

I wouldn't feel too sorry for Mr Sub's. Back in my high school days, I used to fool around with one of the owners daughters, never slept with her, but came close. She wasn't beautiful, but had a cute face and an amazing body. They lived in a HUGE $5 million dollar mansion in the Forest Hill Village (around Spadina & Lonsdale) and that was about 15 years ago.

As for the subs, for the ones that I usually order, Quizno's is the best. I don't mind paying an extra $2-$3 for a cheap fast food meal, but the service is a little slower at peak hours. I'd rate the subs I eat below.

Pizza Sub - 1) Quizno's 2) Mr Sub 3) Subway
Meatball Sub 1) Quizno's 2) Subway 3) Mr Sub
Any sub with chicken in it Quizno's wins hands down, the pieces are twice as big and it seems to be better quality. Subway comes second. Mr Sub comes third.

I never understood how the Mr Sub franchisees make money, the shops are never that busy. In the early days the meats were disgusting, ham looked blue, onions were like tape worms, but they improved their quality when Subway came to town. At first I preferred Subway, it was new, but now I find Mr Sub makes a little fresher sandwich generally. A sub can run you up to 8 or 9 bucks including tax at any place nowadays.

As I read through a 5 page sub thread all I could think of was why hasn't anyone mentioned Belly Busters?

In my drinking/party days we would hit BB after the evry weekend. It didn't matter if we were at WAGG or the Rivoli, we always found our way there. I even had my pic on the wall from high school.

Hermes (The messenger God of subs) owned it for as long as I can remember.

I just realized my handle would make a good name for a sub shop, "Dr.John's Subs, SPs eat free"
