I agree ... totallyla venganza said:I have mixed emotions in the MLSE’s decision to let Quinn go. He’s a good guy, but it seems that his time was up in Toronto.
One would have to assume that this is just the start of things. You can't negotiate with other teams free agents until after July 1.Scenicdrive said:Pardon the pun. If Toronto wants to hoist the Stanley Cup once or twice in the foreseeable future, why not do a better and more thorough house cleaning job now?
You are certainly correct in that regard. Having a lot of money to play with is certainly very convenient also. My point is simple: It is unfair to blame Toronto’s collapse entirely on Quinn alone. Yes, Quinn does not live up to Toronto’s expectations. Toronto has such a tremendous hockey tradition and pride that makes one wonders if the hockey god lives there. The good doc is sure that among the many reasons they dismissed Quinn are: 1) He failed to coach the team to playoffs this season and 2) the Stanley Cup eluded him and the Leafs during his seven season tenure with Toronto.A-ROD said:One would have to assume that this is just the start of things. I just watched JFjr on Leafs TV.. he doesn't give out much info but he did mention free agents and that Toronto has a lot of money available under the cap.
The only vision the ownership have is dollar $ign$. Leafs Nation deserves what it's got for mindlessly buying tickets and merchandise to fuel the ownership's neglect of the product.Scenicdrive said:It is time for the owners of Toronto to reaffirm their vision and mission for the team, namely, the Leafs want to hoist the Stanley Cup again!
