More Blackrock bull.... Trudeau made up for it many time in later life.
The night he stood on the hotel balcony and stood up to the separatist, as they threw garbage the group, while all other leaders ran for cover showed the kind of metal he had. You wouldn't know what that meant.
If you think you are so smart, why don't you explain the Quebec Charter of Values in its historical context because Marois didn't just wake up one day and thought it was a good idea out of the blue. Please post some links to support your explanation. Not bull at all and a clear example of what little you really know about your country's history.
You always resort to belittling other people because you lack the intellectual and emotional abilities to discuss the substantive issues objectively, reasonably and rationally. The night he stood on the hotel balcony and stood up to the separatist, as they threw garbage the group, while all other leaders ran for cover showed the kind of metal he had. Aside from the fact that a detailed explanation you are asking for, 'with references' would take a whole lot of bandwidth and time, in the range of a four page DM C&P wonder, the chances of it making any difference to 'you' is next to nil. I've already learned my lesson of doing as you ask in the threads on the quality of life in South Africa, slavery in North America and the Home Run Derby curse. References mean nothing to you and your Mr Peabody outlook on history. The highlights have already been given on this in a number of other threads in the past on Quebec. That you can't realize it says volumes as to you ability to understand even the most basic facts on Quebec history. If you think you are so smart, why don't you explain the Quebec Charter of Values in its historical context because Marois didn't just wake up one day and thought it was a good idea out of the blue. That his action were tasteless is not in question, just that it was the expression of a 23 year old university student.http://www.freealberta.com/trudeau.html
Trudeau dressed as a German soldier and riding around Jewish suburbs of Montreal DURING WORLD WAR II (as reported by Mordecai Richler). While this does not imply that Trudeau was a Nazi - Trudeau's version of socialism differed from Hitler's - his actions were tasteless at best. Historian Esther Delisle noted that some of Quebec's elite supported Petain and the Vichy French during World War II. This adds further context to Trudeau's professed doubt that World War II was a just war.
Your ignorance of history is well documented in TERB past threads/posts and no I'm not going to dig them up, but other members will know of what I speak. You always resort to belittling other people because you lack the intellectual and emotional abilities to discuss the substantive issues objectively, reasonably and rationally.
(BTW: Standing up to thrown garbage is far far less courageous than standing up to Nazi machine gun fire at Normandy.)
Thunderballs, you hit the nail on the head. I tried to give a more detailed historical background with links to external sources and, of course, our friend Blackrock went berserk with his usual rant and rave routine.Having spent 20+ years in QC, I can attest to the fact that Quebeckers are extremely xenophobic. They categorize people into two classes: francophones and everyone else. All these language and cultural issues are brilliant though. Keep the populace ignorant and unilingual, focused on the pie in the sky idea of separation and they will never see all the graft going on right under their noses.
I believe in "God" (or whatever one wants to call something greater than us...). I'm not a believer in any organized Religion (I grew up Catholic). That said I respect people's rights to practise their religions.Read this today and can't say I'm surprised, but terribly disappointed that people would target this woman.

You'll get that reaction especially if you visit/live/work there with a giant chip on your shoulder. Remember our long departed Simon, who went off when a store clerk didn't treat him like he thought he should be treated. There must be a banner over my head saying I'm a nice guy treat me as such, as I can't remember ever being treated purely, anywhere in Quebec, especially in QC. so far each one of those cultural issues, separation and language have failed to get the result the old guard PQist want, this one will as well. The Montrealers, the power and financial base of the province are not fooled by the PQ shell game it only the rural folk that very much live in a bubble that are buying it, but they won't carry the day. The Greater Montreal area is almost half the population of the province. You need support there to get anything done. The PQ got only 32% of the popular vote and are the ruling party by the hair of their chinny chin chin.Thunderballs, you hit the nail on the head. Every time one of these campaigns were launched the was a boost immediately after, but it gradually fades and then disappears when it came time to vote.http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...d-by-francophones-poll-shows/article14334035/
"According to the Léger Marketing survey, the charter idea has boosted support for the PQ by six points, to 33 per cent."

I was initially mesmerized by PET's charisma and intellectual oratory, even met him once when I was a student, but he was the worst kind of socialist who created Canada's debt problems which afflicted this country for decades.
Trudeau was the reason I stopped voting Liberal.
What an arseclown you are Rockslinger....hijacking the thread for a Trudeau rant...... Pierre was the greatest PM of all!As usual, why are you going all hysterical? I'm just trying to provide some historical perspective using external sources (and there are many more) to explain why Quebec as a society (not just Trudeau) is the only province to table a Charter of Values.
BTW: Who taught you manners? If you can't post in a reasoned and rational manner, then don't post.
Sir, it is obvious you have no clue about the culture and history of Quebec as background to the tabling of the Charter of Values. What an arseclown you are Rockslinger....hijacking the thread for a Trudeau rant...... Pierre was the greatest PM of all!
It's certainly clear you don't. One of the reference you offered up called the Trudeau a dictator because he instituted the War Measure Act because of two kidnappings, totalling the 150+ acts of violence on the citizens of Quebec over the last seven years, culminating in 50 bombings in the year leading up to the kidnappings and murder. The Montreal exchange was bombed injuring nearly 30 people. Even the Mayor wasn't free of the threat as they bombed his home.b It puts their other opinons in question. It's you that doesn't have a clue, thinking the Seiks are more entitled to wear the turbine because they served honourably in the Allied army.Sir, it is obvious you have no clue about the culture and history of Quebec as background to the tabling of the Charter of Values.
I provided several links to articles written by different authors that discuss Quebec, its people, culture, politics and events covering a 70 year period circa 1940-present. To say that I agree with 100% of every word written in those articles is just plain stupid. It's certainly clear you don't.
