There are no exact figures on how many people have left Russia - but estimates vary from hundreds of thousands to several million.
In May the UK Ministry of Defence estimated 1.3 million people leaving Russia in 2022.
Other estimates of figures from various sources confirm the trend. Forbes magazine cited sources inside the Russian authorities as saying that between 600,000 and 1,000,000 people left in 2022. The Bell and RTVi - both independent Russian media - published comparable figures.

That small groups are able to take and hold Russian clay [last time for 2 days] is interesting.
It means the border of Russia proper and Ukraine was not held very tightly, which means Russia does not in any way feel the conflict is existential, at least not for them.
Also it means Russia will have to transfer units from the front to watch over the previously quiet borders, just like Ukraine has been having to do for a long time. At least Ivan average will have a chance to rotate out of combat a bit/bit more.

Now where is my popcorn while I wait for the usual suspects to completely derail this thread with their delusions and hate comments and this thread gets locked up also.

They don't transfer front line units to deal with incursions because they don't have to. Russia uses MVD troops that are perfectly capable in dealing with lightly armed and unsupported attackers. Neither it is unusual for the penetrations to occur as the front line is very long and the terrain varied and the attackers look like Russians and are fluent in Russian. It actually means very little in the greater scheme of things.

ROTFLMAO!!!!

Those MVD troops have done a great job so far in not stopping the incursions and resultant destruction in the Belgorod and broader Russian regions.

yawn!! Thanks, expert. The MVD troops are not there to stop the incursions, but to deal with them once they're been discovered. The area is too big and the conflict line too long to prevent small groups from infiltrating.

ROTFLMAO!!!!

What have these expert MVD troops discovered so far, except shelled and destroyed Russian military sites and cities, towns and villages all along the border and missing Russian border guards?

Everyone who didn't leave until after mobilization should be put in POW camps and treated as prisoners of war to send back after the war is over. If they were happy to support the Butcher of Grozny, Bucha, Izium, Kherson and Mariupol up until it risked them or their family, they should be treated as complicit in his war crimes and agents in his invasion of Ukraine.

Infighting, Russian anti-Kremlin militia, I don't know, it seems like to me Putin has a war on his hands.

LOL! Yeah, I said that tongue in cheek. For those who may not know, it was a reference to the million men Siberian army that lifted the siege at Stalingrad in WW II.

General Zhukov didn't face the Germans directly, he deployed a Cannae to trap them in the city. Due to propaganda, the fact that Italian Marines punched a hole in the Soviet line has been buried. General Paulus requested a withdrawal from Stalingrad but Hitler refused the request. 54,000 Italian soldiers were taken prisoner at Stalingrad, only 8000 survived the Gulag.
