Yes, it was a major contributor.

If the population grows even by 2% but there is not enough housing, guess what happens? Landlords can increase rent to any amount that someone is willing to pay. In other words, a small bump in population growth can translate into large increases in rent.

Mass immigration and the overall impact on the job market and economy also caused large intraprovincial movement which your tweet doesn't account for.

I remember long time ago, there were a lot of Filipino ladies working at Timmies

and the service was great, they were always happy and kind and even the coffee was good

now, when most of the ladies who work there are dressed in black, from head to toe
