That doesn’t answer why you have a problem with it, though (unless you hold a large stock position in Anhauser Busch). Why do YOU care so deeply about this issue?
Because it's the only way that he can feel like a "winner".

Were they being beaten up because they are heterosexual?

Is there an outbreak of violence by gay and trans people against heterosexuals?

PS: These are rhetorical questions. The answers are self evident
It doesn't really matter for what reason somebody's getting beat up.

An assault is an assault

I think there was talk about banning the national anthem during the Colin Kaepernick kneeling protest.

I wouldn't be surprised if most violence against gays are committed by other gays. In an earlier post I gave 4 examples of gays being murdered by another gay.

I recall reading somewhere that domestic violence is particularly high with lesbian couples.

Actually it does matter, though. It’s what escalates an assault into a Hate Crime.

Do heterosexuals need extra protection under the law because there is a history of their being targeted for attacks due to their sexual orientation? Of course not.

So voluntarily deciding not to play the anthem is considered a “ban”?

Same as Phil. We are discussing people being targeted and assaulted specifically because of their sexual orientation.

We are not discussing serial killers. We are not discussing lovers’ spats. These desperate attempts to change the channel to something else reveals the fact that they have no coherent argument to explain their sensitive feelings on this topic.

If they would simply acknowledge that they get off on persecuting others to feel better about their own shitty lives we could all stop arguing about this.

In my previous post I've already shown that heterosexuals are a lot more victims of assaults and murders than gays are.
Just because heteros get assaulted for different reasons than the gays do doesnt make the assaults any less severe.

What you're suggesting is an assault on a heterosexual is somehow less serious than an assault on a LGBTQ person.

Let me give you another example.
In the last year or so we've seen people on the TTC get stabbed, lit on fire, thrown onto the tracks and beat up for no reason.
Were any of them targeted because they were gay?? No they werent.
How do I know this, because it wouldve been all over the news, thats why.

These people were randomly assaulted because the perpetrator was either an asshole, had mental disease or was just having a bad day.
Does that make them any less of a victim than if it had happened to a gay person??

So just reading the news right now, and there was another serious assault this weekend.
Nothing in the article to suggest it was a homophobic attack.
Happened at 3:40am so probably 2 drunks guys picking on someone they got into an argument with

The LGBTQ community gets assaulted just as often as heterosexuals for non-Hate crimes…plus…they get assaulted for being gay.

Yes, but this article was written on April 11/2023. Bud stock has lost way more market cap, since then!! Down 8.64%, from it's 52 week high. The 52W high of Bud was 67.09, on March 31/2023, right on the day before, the Dylan Mulvaney Bud Light campaign, began. The DM Bud Light campaign, began on April 1/2023.

Thats not true at all. Gays are not regularly getting beat up in Canada for being gay.
I can only dig up one homophobic assault in the GTA on a gay person in the last 2 years

And that CFL player was cleared, so the entire event may not even have happened.
Canada is one of the safest country for LGBTQ people. If not the safest.

Now if you wanna argue most muslim countries are very unsafe for gay people I would agree with you.
Thats something that needs to change. But your claim that Canada is unsafe for gays is just complete bullshit

There were 423 hate crimes reported because of sexual orientation, up from the previous peak in 2019 of 265.
