For the past 2-3 hrs I've been getting drunk and listening to youtube vids. OMG I love this website, you can find pretty well anything there. I ended up listening to the full album of Eric B & Rakim's Follow The Leader. Just fucking blows my mind. Rakim is just on another level. I still like their first album better but this is damn close.

Had to post this even though it's not r&b/hip hop since it was the sample used in the above 2 posts.

RIP Luther. In my mind the greatest singer that ever lived.

Great sample of above song. JJ was so cute back in the day. Then she got all naughty.

Faith Evans' voice is so pure. But it's the beat that got me mesmerized. Where did it come from, see next post for the answer.

Diamond D is one of the hidden gems of 90's hip hop. Overlooked by the heavyweights of the time - Nas, Jay Z, Biggie, Pete Rock, Wu Tang etc.

Toni was so fine. Not too many ladies can rock the short hair and get away with it. Ironically, the soundtrack this appeared on (Boomerang) also featured a fine honey that rocked the short hair cut better than anyone ;)

Hi Five were a group hailing from the infamous Waco TX. This was their breakout song. Some many consider this a bit "candy pop" a la New Edition but there is no question the lead singer, Tony Thompson, had a pure r&b voice. Too bad it ended the way it did for him. RIP.

This was Hi Five's 2nd biggest song. Here they are on Arsenio (sans 1 member). Gotta love the early 90's suit jackets 2 sizes too big :)

One of the best hip hop groups of all time. From their best album Low End Theory track #2. That bass is killer.

Pure eargasm is how I can best describe this. The beat. The lyrics. It's a symphony. This song didn't make The Source top 100 it makes my top 20 easy.

A few of you mentioned Pharoahe Monch in your lists so thought I'd post a few Organized Konfusion tracks. These guys may very well be the most underrated group in the history of hip hop.
