Which is actually Israel and Hamas.

It would be nice to give the Biden Administration a victory of some sort on the way out, but it looks to me Israel is tired and Hamas is exhausted. This is only a ceasefire this is not a peace deal.
Ceasefire is simply that....
Hamas right now "let's stop attacking each other...our tunnels are fucked...let us rebuild it then let's resume"

Sure.
And Qatar for mediating.
And the Biden administration for facilitating consensus.
Yes it's just a ceasefire but that's as much you can accomplish right now.
Peace is a long long way away.

I think many of us share this sentiment. We don't see any peace being possible until Palestine changes its view of Israel. That might mean when Palestinians finally tire of raising children to die for the cause. The Palestinians are definitely tenacious. Some would say suicidal.

If the Palestinians would lay down their arms, I am certain the U.S. and Mideast power players would work to support a lasting and fair peace. However if the Palestinians and their supporters look at the mere existence of Israel as unfair and demanding vengeance, the cycle of violence will never end.

Other than a few members who are Hamas sympathizers, this is how we see things.

Perhaps I'm too optimistic, but I'm hoping the armaments supply chain has been crippled for some time.

...and Israel changes its view of Palestine.
It is not because of Palestine that there is no peace.
It is because of both Palestine and Israel that there is a conflict and a lack of peace.
It takes two to tango.

I don't necessarily agree with this perspective.

If the Palestinians refuse to recognize Israel, you will just have a continual series of conflicts interrupted by ceasefires. That doesn't mean I don't think Israel has to make concessions, live by them and change its ways.

It is a conflict for statehood at its core, so both are responsible.

Perhaps. I just think the first move is in Palestine's court.

Pretty diminished court by now.
Hamas is still in charge from what I can tell.
There are no elections or other mechanisms in place to change that.

Well, it is 95% rubble.
Oh, the rubble is preventing the Palestinians in Gaza from choosing new leadership.

As I make this point, we know Netanyahu, his party and coalition have to stand for election.

Probably the general pop is sort of preoccupied with the whole "having no homes or food and their families being wiped out" to really consider the finer points of ballot boxes and organizing a mandate to vote out the guys with guns who are in charge.

This is what peace can bring.
