I think a few progressive members unintentionally linked a likely Liberal victory to Trump's actions. mandrill picked up on this early in the thread and backed off of it. He smartly began focusing criticism on Poilievre and his inadequacies. Valcazar the political science guy (who I don't think can vote in Canada) was asking about this perceived anti-Trump vote.

I like to be optimistic. I think Carney will lead very much differently than Trudeau as long as the Liberal MPs follow him. Carney's too smart and I have a hunch he is a pragmatist when the rubber hits the road. That could be why he is casting a wide net even though objectively the last ten years of Liberal governance haven't been great for Canada.
Lead differently than Trudeau with the same cast behind the scenes (Butts, Telford), much of the same cabinet, and having been one of the Trudeau government's policy advisors for at least the past four years.

Pass the bong.

If the libs pull off a majority, the Conservative tears will be so sweet. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
If the Libs pull off a majority with a climate cultist, WEF and China infiltrated former central banker after 10 years of the most incompetent and unethical government the country has ever seen there is no amount of abuse that dumb Canadians will not put up with.

Yes don't ever vote Conservative. Most Canadians are smarter than you, as you get your info from X and other conspiracy sites.

Poilievre was a central banker and the party in charge for the past 10 years? Your post doesn't even make sense.

Never spent much time on these forums but I had thought those with enough disposable income to hobby had more than two intellectual nickels to rub together. Guess not.

Here is a video of Mark Carney promoting net zero on the WEF Official Website lol -

Carney is in deep with China as is most of the Liberal Party including Trudeau.

Not sure what to say to people who label easily verifiable factual evidence as a "conspiracy".

That article is factually incorrect and deliberately misleading. Does not even mention China as the second biggest holder of US debt. As of last reporting Canada holds around the same amount as many other countries like Belgium, France, Ireland etc.

Gov holdings of US dollar bonds have actually dropped over the past few months.

What Canada did do is issue a bond denominated in US dollars - to hedge against the Canadian peso which is exactly the opposite of what this article implies.

Hopefully not as I can proudly claim to never have voted once for a failed drama teacher and ski instructor who doubled the national debt with absolutely nothing to show for it.
Instead you prefer a career politician who has never had a real job, has the biggest pension in office and has passed no bills and done nothing except abuse taxpayer money for decades/

Carney held meetings with the EU and other countries to suggest this tactic.

You can always cite my posts in context rather than alluding to some theme that you think is apparent. The phrase "most people" doesn't change the meaning of the overall statement. It seems like a small thing to lock into and hold on to after I clarified my post's meaning.
Listen I just clarified the context of "most people" in my response specifically was about the Canadian Voters itself who will be making their decision at the Ballot Box.
You have your POV and I have mine. Plain and simple!!

This was a different conversation in this thread. I hope you are not trying to settle some score.
It is all part of this thread and hence appropriate to bring it up, as it is the same logic between the two different conversations.
Now the "backtracking" in the first place was in context to that link that I was quoting. But you took it all out of context for some reason to throw the "color of the jersey" into the mix.
If you read that link that I posted in the other conversation, prior to that response of yours then you would have realized fully as to the reason of my quote in the first place!!

I do think there is an anti-Trump vote.
It's a major driver of what is happening in the election.
Just look at the leaders' debates these past two nights.
Trump is a major part of the discussion.

It isn't the only thing at play, but it has clearly had an impact.

And I will be voting early this weekend in the Canadian election.

You know, if Trump didn't open his big mouth (which he cannot do) about 51st State, PeePee would have this election locked up.
