I have walked from Union Station to as far North as Bloor Street. But you made my point, that money should be spent on more public transit infrastructure rather than more Highways. London is a bigger city than Toronto and well connected by their Underground / Subway. Hence more citizens use the public transport rather than their cars whenever possible!!You think Union station is the epicenter of the city? That's way south. You think anyone can just walk km's after getting to union? No. They would then need to take the TTC.
I'm not disputing that some European countries have better transit systems. In fact that's my whole point. Toronto is a different city, more spread out and transit is terrible. That's why driving is still attractive, more convenient, and offers someone the means to go many places during the same commute in a reasonable time.
Not once...but rather...many times.
I'm glad you agree that underground subways like in other cities would be better. Some people on here are against subways. But you think that it is possible to drive to Downtown Toronto in a "reasonable time" during rush hours? Really!!
You keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better. Not once...but rather...many times.
Ah, no matter the subject you can find a bad position.I'm glad you agree that underground subways like in other cities would be better. Some people on here are against subways. (You know who.)
Until someone in Toronto can travel in/out of the city using reliable and efficient transit, we can't pretend cars don't exist. They do. And because they do, we need more roads/highways not less.
Lots of people can't ride bikes or walk long distances.
As usual , you twist yourself into a pretzel trying to create someone else's alleged argument.Ah, no matter the subject you can find a bad position.
So you support subways where population density doesn't support them, are against LRT's where they are appropriate, want more highways and suburbia then complain about the expense and time of your commute and finish it off by complaining about rapid transit.
You chose to live in the burbs, skoob. As usual , you twist yourself into a pretzel trying to create someone else's alleged argument.
Come back here when you realize not everyone lives in downtown Toronto. You need to get out more.
You consider anywhere beyond the shadow of the CN tower "the burbs". You need to get out more. You chose to live in the burbs, skoob.
Stop whining about it.
Why would you think I never travel, skoob? You consider anywhere beyond the shadow of the CN tower "the burbs". You need to get out more.
Why would you think I live in the burbs? Why would you think I never travel, skoob?
What, you're going to say you live in the city now but really, really want to live the burbs? Why would you think I live in the burbs?
