Take the survey - http://www.politicalcompass.org/

I was just as I expected. Economic right with a social libertarian twist :)

Surprisingly, Barack Obama is not that far from Harper, who nudges mitt Romney!

Did not participate in that test.

I take the wisdom of Wild Willie Clinton about the economy.

Every election going forward, will be about economic growth and government balance sheets.

For example, Toronto, transit, being that the TTC is unable to deliver better services, these bottlenecks impact the economic conditions of the city, and is a weight on the quality of life, as it clearly could be better. That the most important issue in this city election. Previous city election, all about garbage collection and better management of tax dollars, and the hated vehicle registration tax.

All these side issues about homosexuals, prostitution, gambling, crime, religion, war, minorities, and intellectuals, who gives a hoot.

A true example of classical libertarian collectivism of anarcho-syndicalism ( libertarian socialism).

I particularly liked this question: "Sex outside marriage is usually immoral."
...To paraphrase Woody Allen, "only if you're doing it right."

Oh, yeah. My results....

As I've grown older, I've definitely become more of a libertarian.

I'm sick of big government and I'm tired of over regulation.

Do what you want as long as you don't hurt anyone and you're over 18. What do I care. Just take responsibility for your own actions.

They could cut the size of government in half and it wouldn't be a bad thing.

How boring and predictable. As people get older, they become more inclined to think "I've got mine Jack, no feck orf!" It's a politics of greed, gussied up with bullshit rationalizations to make it appear to be something more.

The free market on its own has nothing to do with ethics.
Given the choice between a harmful act that increases profit, and any alternative that will not increase profit as much, an unregulated corporate entity will ALWAYS choose the more profitable one.
A civilized society should have a framework that is more than simply allowing the strongest and most brutal to rise to the top and destroy all competition. That is not civilization.
Deregulation inevitably fucks things up: 2008 market collapse, toxic spills going essentially unpunished, listeria/ecoli scandals, etc etc etc ad nauseum weepy-face-emoticon

Gene Roddenberry would disown you.

I think it means freedom without anarchy, capitalism with a conscience .... or I'm to lazy to form any firm decision.

Have you never heard of that joke?

If you are 20 and you are not a socialist, you do not have a heart.

If you are 40 and you still are not a conservative, you do not have a brain.

That's all the captain is saying.

A paraphrase of a quotation from Francois Guisot (1787-1874): “Not to be a republican at twenty is proof of want of heart; to be one at thirty is proof of want of head.”

You make me laugh with your stereotypes and generalisations.

I believe in being responsible and held to account for my own actions. You don't. You believe that the government should take care of you because you are incapable of taking care of yourself.

We are regulated to death in this city and this province. It's gone too far already.
