I am quite indifferent to the Monarchy. I don't care if it stays or is abolished. However, even if there was a party advocating abolition and they acquired power, we likely would still be stuck with the Monarchy. Every country has to have a head of state. There would be no agreement on how to choose the head of state. Elected? Who can run? Appointed by the PM? Big controversy there. Australia narrowly defeated a proposal to become a republic, and it boiled down to this issue.
