Now that most stores charge for shopping bags have you stopped or at least curtailed your use of them. I dont think people care about having to pay for them and most are far too lazy to take reusable bags.

Paying an extra 15 cents on your grocery bill isn’t a deterrent to anyone. It’s silly to think it would be. People who want to make a difference will bring their own bags regardless, everyone else isn’t going to care. Also, I like getting bags because I use them for garbage bags.

I stopped using them years ago.

I figure rather than bitch on internet boards about the possibility of the man made catastrophe of climate change.

I'll exercise some individual sovereignty and do my part curtail pollution.

So.....Plastic bags, plastic cutlery, single use water bottles are all out for me. Also drive my car as little as possible .

Personally I've been using re-usable shopping bags for several years. Less junk to take care of!

In a place far, far away
I still ask for mine to be double bagged.
The earth thanks you.

My favourite grocery store is a five minute walk so I take my F150 Raptor for a ride to prevent carbon build up first.

I keep a couple of bins in the truck bed so that I can put the bags in them as I don’t want my groceries to go flying around.

I don't mind paying for good quality bags that can be reused. That's why I switched from Metro to Longos.

Most people use plastic shopping bags for their garbage, so if they're using reusable bags to shop what do they use for garbage? I think they end up buying glad bags, which defeats the purpose. BTW plastic bags can go into the compost bin for the city, in Toronto anyway.

Maybe one day you will choke on a piece of plastic.
I don’t think bagging my groceries in plastic makes me any more prone to choking on plastic than you. My guess is that we will both be fine. Let’s keep in touch and see how things pan out.

I collect my shopping bags and once a year drive to Halifax and throw them into the ocean.

He never said anything about you being more prone than anyone else.
