Wrong. Many new 50"+ plasmas are 1080P.thundarr said:LCD TV's can display 1080P hi def (the new standard) and plasmas can only display 720P.....but when 1080P programming gets in full swing you will regret buying a plasma if that is the way you decide to go.

Where do you plan to put the unit?
Well lit environment? or dark environment (big key question)
Plasma is perfect (well, better) for lowlight situations.mrpolarbear said:i am going to put it in my basement. Ive been looking for awhile now and walmart is going to have a 42inch plasma for 998 on the day after thansgiving. i dont know which brand it will be .
No, you can replace the bulb on an LCD PROJECTION tv....an LCD TV is the same as a flat computer monitor, the entire screen is a self contained unit which produces the image. The LCD projection TVs use mirrors etc from a single source aka bulb......gentle_lover said:Are you guys saying that when the quality of picture going down after so many hours of use on LCD tv, you can fix it just by replacing the bulb or whatever you call it? In contradiction, you can't do anything except buy a new tv on plasma model?
I am no genuis when it comes to these things but Cobster is right. I purchased a hdmi cable from my cable company and had to get a dvr box . The picture is awesome. If i read your question right the tv i bought has the tuner built in.rhibes said:I am looking at christmas or boxing day to get a good deal. But one of the questions I have is that it requires a HDTV source. I was wondering how bad it would look if I used normal analog cable. Also how do you know it is 1080 and not the lower kind.
You can still watch your regular cable programs on most new HDTV , but:rhibes said:I am looking at christmas or boxing day to get a good deal. But one of the questions I have is that it requires a HDTV source.
