If I could vote someone off it would be Taylor. He's the weakest singer left along with Kellie.

It wasn't as horrible a week as I would have thought. Yes, we have heard these standards a zillion times, but they are well crafted songs which put the contestants' vocal talents to the test. My understanding is that was no changing of the arrangements this week--you had to sing the song in its classic form.

Kat was fantastic--goose pimply fantastic. She looked beautiful, and she was born to sing songs like this.

I liked Paris, whom I have been dismissive of in the past. A very classy, sexy performance. I have always thought Paris could go very deep in this competition, and I would even go as far as to suggest no one has handled all the different weekly genres as consistently and as effortlessly as she.

Chris gave a more than passable rendition of 'What a Wonderful World'. Although I don't think he has erased all doubts that he is limited in his repertoire, this week helped him, I thought.

I didn't think Kellie was as awful as all that, but she wasn't good. I think she gets a scare this week, but I don't think she leaves yet.

It's gonna be Ace or Elliott tonight. Ace looked quite handsome, I thought, all dolled up, and he didn't sing badly, but he is the logical one to go. Elliott is a decent singer, but he just doesn't have any pizzazz, so it wouldn't surprise me if he went.

I agree, it'll be Ace or Elliott, probably Ace. Based on their performances last night neither deserves to go.

I agree pretty much with your assessment. Katharine and Paris were the best of the night. I keep hoping that Taylor will get sent home but for some reason he apparently is the most popular of the bunch. It's certainly not his singing ability. He was pretty mediocre on 'You Send Me' then reverted to his act of stomping and screaming which I thought was terrible. I'm pretty sure that wasn't sticking to the original arrangement. He's no Sam Cooke.

It was Ace tonight...it was almost like he was trying to be another Brian McKnight. Ace, Chris, and Paris were the bottom 3 tonight.

Yup, Ace got the boot, although it was a bit of a surprise Chris was in the bottom three. Despite her lackluster performance, Kellie was never in danger, thereby proving she is America's sweetheart. I think the competition gets really tough now, as all the weak links are gone.

well almost all the weak links...

I was surprised to see Chris in the bottom three... I think they are mixing up the bottom threes so that people dont know who is gone and not...

I think it was an unfair position that they put Taylor into last night having to choose which group was NOT the bottom three...

As for the weakest link... as much as I like Elliott... much of the vote is going to come down to looks and style as the remainder of the singers are all really good... IMHO best Idol season ever... but Elliott is next... just doesnt have that as Paula would say... "you're a star" look to him...

Picker was easily the worst performance and didnt hit the bottom three so I would have to say... looks are playing a huge part in this competition...

As for Simon... I think he wants to book a session with Katherine....lol. He gets all glossy eyed when he talks to her... grins...

Chris... out of his element this week FOR SURE but rose to the occassion.
Taylor.. his charm is his calling card
Paris.. Simon said it best talks like Minnie mouse and sings incredible
Kelly.. she takes the blond jokes to a whole new level but cute definately cute.

The best line of the week from Kelli: "You really took a load off my chest!" The look from Rod Stewart was priceless.

Rough night on Idol. Okay, so what have we learned?

Well, Katharine is no Whitney Houston, Elliott is no Donnie Hathaway, Kellie is no Bill Medley or Bobby Hatfield, Paris is no Barbra Streisand, and Taylor is no James Ingram. No big surprises, those are huge shoes to fill.

But Chris might be as good or better than Bryan Adams. Also not a big surprise, lol. But Chris really helped his cause tonight. I hate that song, but it was a good choice for his voice and he sang it well.

At the stage of the competition, I do believe a bad night can send you home. I think Kellie has a big fan base, but I do think she is the logical one to go home tomorrow. I always thought she'd make it to about the middle rounds, and it might be her time. I didn't think she was horrible, but she picked an iconic song, and she didn't do anything exceptional with it.

Best part of the night for me was Katharine showing off the big guns and flashing a little thigh through that slit in her skirt. A sexy, flattering outfit for once. That's all it takes to keep me happy.

Maybe I need my ears cleaned out, but did Kellie actually sound as bad as the judges said? I agree that she sucked last week but seemed okay if unspectacular tonight.

I wish I could have seen that "flash" in slow motion. May have seen alittle more than thigh?

I liked Kellie and Katherine.

It's never a bad idea to clean your ears, but I thought the judges were all a little harsh tonight actually. I didn't think Katharine was that bad, nor did I think Kellie was terrible, although she didn't nail it either. The love song theme is deceptively tough, because so many love songs have iconic renditions, and it is just impossible to live up to the originals. That's why Chris' choice was so brilliant. It's a known song, but it is hardly iconic.

I like the Pickles, but she can't win. She's gone a long way with her dumb blondeness and country girl cornball charm, but it can't last forever. If she doesn't go tomorrow, she goes soon.

First off a little plug once again for myself. Jesus Christ this is scarey!

Secondly maybe its just my deaf lust for Katherine but did she really do that bad a job. I don`t think so. She looked crazy hot last night.

Paul blubbering after Elliots performance just grated me raw. What a douche-bag.

Yes Chris was by far the best. Him and Katherine are going to take this to the end of the 12th round. Its going to be a bloodbath.

I have to agree, although the one who has made the most improvement in the last months has been Paris. Katherine just keeps getting hotter though and she has great pipes.

Don't forget it's not always about talent on this show when America is voting. People vote with their hearts as well and not always with their heads, so if Paris is endearing to many, she may get a lot of support, especially for a 17 year old doing so well, she does have huge potential but needs a vocal coach to fine tune herself. Kellie, as someone already said, is the logical choice to go home, but logic doesn't always prevail, just look at who was in the bottom three last week.

It all depends on themes and song selection now, but a good bet is Chris takes it all because he is so versatile and can sing all types of songs, and handles himself quite well on stage all the time. The best singer doesn't always win this competition though, but Clive Davis will certainly go after the best singer for a contract whether he/she wins or not.

I watched on HD last night. It was so sharp that I could see the snot running out of Paula's nose. I paused it on Katherine several times and I swear I saw the edge of a nipple and some panties. Yummy. If I was the producer, I would veto any decision against Katherine or Kelli and eliminate that doofus Talyor.

Doing laps at the Y
Katherine rocked again last night. I got that "chill" from her singing Whitney.

Chris had poor song choice in singing a Bryan Adams song. Still reminds me of Marty from Rock Star INXS when he shouts rather than sing.

Taylor was Taylor, and entertaining as usual.

Pickler showed her age by referring to the movie GHOST in her connection to Unchained Melody, and she isn't a Leann Rimes. That's twice now. Leann could do Patsy Cline, I don't think Pickler can. If she could have nailed the ending like David Foster's suggestion, it probably would have been better.

Paris, I mean Gary Coleman was back without the extensions, and you know I don't like her, and I was turned off by her song choice. BIG song, for a little girl.
