Is Parchment Paper Flammable?

Parchment paper is way cool. I admit I kind of love parchment paper. You can use it to cook things ON or IN and nothing sticks to it and no pots or pans get dirty. It's great for cookies and you can make a circle of it and put it in the bottom of a round cake pan instead of greasing and flouring the

I am/was just bitchin about the last batch I bought. The oil from frozen french fries seeps immediately right through, and after 20 mins at 400dg, the paper get burnt - not open flame burnt but crumbly burnt. (this time is was "Chef Elite" Brand however I have had this problem years ago with Walmart's "Great Value" Brand.

My favorite that never disappoints is Reynolds Parchment Paper. Gonna order online right now.
