Covidiots are responsible for extending the lockdown periods.
It’s easy to blame it on them but the reality is the half assed contradictory government approach to lockdowns(AKA mockdowns) and underfunded socialist healthcare is to blame. Not to mention a painfully slow vaccination rollout.

It’s a catch 22 because it becomes a neverending cycle of failures and the result is pandemic fatigue especially in those who would have previously trusted the government and their plan of “2 weeks”.

The pandemic has just accelerated a trend on Yonge Street, where whole blocks of old merchantile buildings are being torn down and condos replacing them. The store closure rate below bloor is phenomenal as the Landlords have scant reason to work with their tenants to help keep them afloat and every reason to sell out at a very good price. This is just part of the trend. Too bad though, the BR was great to have handy.

It was a matter of time before that block was sold and redeveloped. It's right at Bloor and Yonge ffs! That entire strip between Bloor and Dundas is going to be mixed use condos by the end of the decade.

The strippers will find the new "in" strip club. Maybe the HoL?? Somewhere downtown, but not at the core of the development boom. What is left of the industry will simply gravitate to a new bar.

It was irrelevant what happened lockdowns were here to stay
People predicted that a year ago

Also; good to see you acknowledge there are more people engaging in civil disobedience than compliant sheeple
If majority of people DID obey lockdowns none of them would get sick, much less die right
Its all those 80+ year olds you see rallying at Queens Park and Yonge Dundas Square weekly

Globe and Mail reporting the building and land should sell for around 32 million dollars.

Covid has nothing to do with the sale, so quit the back and forth on that. On the other hand, 32 million does have everything to do with the sale.

Irving Cooper bought the place in the late 50's and the Cooper family still owns it. I doubt they paid 50 grand for it back then. Pretty good investment.

The sad fucking part is that Yonge Street is being destroyed by greedy developers who are ruining what used to be a pretty cool street. The Brass Rail will be replaced by a banal concrete box with plate glass windows with absolutely no architectural merit or streetscape. Cheap cheap cheap will be the design criteria of any box they build there.

Wow, it’s been there so long I can’t imagine what kind of profit they sold it for?

Like, if you bought that land in the late 80’s it must have been cheap compared to today. I bet he sold it for 34 million. Pretty great run.

The only thing I’ll miss in that area once the condo developers get done with it is the all you can eat KBBQ across the street. That will be an even sadder day when it closes up.

You are blaming the wrong people. It has nothing to do with the developers- they do what they do for the greatest return. It's the city hall that deserves all the "credit". The city can easily establish architectural standards for the redevelopment sites.

It had run its course anyway. Strip joints are shitholes anyways, drugged up dancers, hustler girls ripping you off whenever they can, scumbag pimps hanging around. Not to mention 12 dollar beers. What job will the bathroom douche do now, what's he qualified for?

Is everything going online now. I've never been on only fans but is that where it's at now? Old buildings look decrepit and are over hyped as nostalgic.

Covidiots do not want to follow the accepted measures of masks, social distancing, hand washing etc. and thereby help the spread of the virus. There is nothing contradictory about that.
