I got a ‘dermoid cysts’ in my ovary, about 5cm around. It doesn’t hurt, but I can feel it moving/bouncing around in there when I exercise or have vigorous sex.

When I was at the gynecologist a couple of months ago, he said that it should come out.
He was going on his holidays and would get back to me upon his return.

I let some time pass and waited for him to call and schedule the operation.

Then I called again to check up, if a date has been set. According to his secretary: they used to be able to just call the hospital and book the surgery, but now there are some different procedures, where they must wait for some sort of approval or it must be an emergency.

Also, I read that it can rapture, something I'd very much like to avoid.

I am off to see him this afternoon. I am pretty sure I want this thing out of me. Is there anything I can tell him to speed this up?

Does anybody here have any experience with ovarian cysts?

Please share. I am bit frightend to go under the knife.

Don't be scared, surgery is painless, and I myself would have it out as fast as I could get it out.. If you leave it it may burst and could cause an infection or some other matter. I have had 4 surgeries and no problems at all
Just go.. i'll hold your hand lol

As if an escort is going to share stories on how they've been carved up, not too good for business.

ahhhhhhh - another good reason for anonymity

The ladies are pm'ing me, thank you.

Just came from the doctor and I am not getting 'carved up'. The procedure is 1 small (1 inch) incision below the belly button (for the laparoscope) and 2 small (1 inch) incisions right and left around the pelvic area. Then it's shaved off with a laser.

What I forgot to ask him is: what is the recovery time before you can have sex?

Thanks very much for the words of confidence. It makes a difference when people can relate and share their experience.

I had an SP friend who underwent the same procedure. While she was concerned / scared about going under the "knife", the laparoscopic procedure was in the end something she found not too bad. I think it took her a week or 2 before she felt 100% afterwards, but she did admit that she did feel better after the procedure was done.
