Without resorting to any blame-game, this-politician-is-a-jerk, etc. opinions--please--could someone encapsulate the current state of the US-Canada border and what lies ahead and when. Yes, itching to see friends up north. All I can glean from various media are hints, feints, and drips and drabs. So one ball of facts, and nothing more. Thanks.

Basically the Feds are imo, waiting on a herd immunity vaccination rate in Canada before allowing anyone in. There is an excellent chance that will occur by the end on the month. And I agree with this.

I also think they want to see how things hold up with the two variants. Our numbers continue to drop and they are only taking hold among the un vaxxed. If that continues they will reopen things up, starting with certain countries, with restrictions. Likely a vaccination proof and test before.

I read that fully vaccinated people will be able to use a proof of vaccinated app, that Canadian customs will use to allow entry. I'm not sure what the app will need for proof of vaccination or if they will require proof of a negative test as well as being fully vaccinated.

border was never really closed to begin with and that's the reason we have the variants here

Fully vaccinated with a negative test should be able to cross at a land border crossing - going in and out of Canada. Sadly, that isn't allowed yet, but you can still fly !

If fully vaccinated, there should be no need for a test, quarantines, or masks.

I live in the Falls.... you can walk over the Rainbow Bridge... or you can fly in.... no issues. Maybe a quarantine period. It's only driving a car over that stopped.

Interesting, guess the bigger issue is that area is just not at all good for hobbying.

Car crossings have been prohibited for the obvious reason that their volume dwarfs air crossings, and security and staff at the road crossings are meagre per crosser compared to airports.

The curtailment of road crossings is absolutely killing the tourism (or tourism dependent) industry in southern Ontario. It's part of the reason that the recovery here in Ontario is so sluggish. Closure of the New York border to Canadians is also a big hit to the Western New York economy, as well as denial of one of the principal benefits of Canadian citizenship - relatively unrestricted travel to the US.

I believe( my opinion) the problem right now is verifying if the proof of vaccination is real or counterfeit.
The certificate you get from the Ontario government would be so easy to reproduce on your home computer. How do US or Canadian officials now if it's legit?
I don't think they have access to Health Ontario records.Nor do Canadian border officials have access to US or any other countries vaccination records.

Niagara Region is brutal for hobbyists.
Selection is terrible and so many scammers.
I second this. Been living here almost 5 years and I still go to Toronto for my fix. LL is a cesspool and the agency girls here aren't my type. I like natural, exotic women, non-smoker and non-drug user. I've yet to see an escort from here and have gone the rub and tug route twice before stopping that as well.

Lived all my life here in Niagara and other than the good'ol days at the Downer, it truly sucks here.

I'm out here on occasion.
PE55 was really fun for a while.
But otherwise its horrid here. Agencies are dodgy and the talent suspect.
LL is mostly scammers with heavy drug use and full on shakedowns a strong possibility.
Even if you can find someone semi legit its usually suspect and all for rates that are at best $20-40 less than the TO agencies where the girls are clean, the places respectable and there is no extra crap.
When pink pearl is $20 less than perla you know its slim picking.
