Enablers yes but I don't think it's they who wanna ride on his coattails. They try to support him to make himself useful but he fucks up even under the spotlight. They have to get him help or he's going to hell in a handbasket. The real shameful people in this whole situation are his enabling brother, his fellow drug addict sister and his mother ("Robbie's only problem is his weight"). They are the very definition of enablers. They have shown that they don't really care for Rob, only want to ride his coattails.
You'll get your chance to correct me some time in the futureguess you were right!
I doubt it. However, if he bowed out, got help and lost 150 pounds, to look like a new man, I bet a lot of people would applaud him.He will go away for a while, get "better" and come back a new man. His core supporters will be out in droves to vote for him.
I'm glad I don't live in TO.
Maybe his political career yes over but if he has any wit left he will take full advantage of this attention and take this to the entertainment industry and capitalize. So many potentials. Many still see him like a big fat chicken wing eating mascot for the city and his failures seem to make us feel good about our own flaws. Every time it's something else something new with him, new drama, but it keeps us interested and we are all eager to see what's to happen next. I would love to see him appear in the WWE or something really cool and out there but not in politics, especially not in my city. Even though this is pretty funny, in reality it is sad and pathetic and does not set a good example. Also says alot about us as a society and how far we have devolved. One time I was watching cp24 and my little daughter is like dady what's crack. Like serious omg...how do I explain this.Hopefully this is the final nail. The pollsters wwill be a callin' tomorrow........
I think it has already been recorded so tomorrow it might be on. I doubt it will be on tonight.I missed the first minute of the show but I haven't heard him say a word yet. He might just be too tasteful to joke about it at this point. However, Kathy Griffin is on the show and she's never held anything back so it might get good!
Yeah they record it live ...lolis that why it's called Jimmy Kimmel Live? LoL
on another note: how is it that Toronto Childrens Aid Society hasn't intervened ... there are children in the Ford home aren't there?
lol ....i think i might start believing those outlandish stories written on a cardboard by the homeless.Just remember, in a few years when you are accosted by a crazy homeless crack head out begging for change, and he tells you this outlandish tale about how he used to be rich, how he even used to be mayor of the whole city...
... it might be true!
Lol!I'll give him one thing. His resiliency and denial level for the last 1.5 years have been extraordinary. A true Teflon Don.
There are some other good quotes:Best quote so far:
"Contrary to what some people on this page may think - He's not getting help because he realizes he needs help. He is doing what all rats do when they are cornered: do or say whatever it takes to take the heat off. He thinks if he tells everyone, particularly the people of Toronto what he thinks they want to hear, and disappears for a while, then everyone will forget his stupid antics and vote for him. I am really afraid of what we are going to find out about him next. He's an embarassment, disgusting and a liability."[/SIZE]
Candidate David Soknacki also released a statement condemning Ford and calling on him to resign.
“Rob Ford is not just a bad mayor. He is also a disgrace. Toronto can’t wait until Oct. 27,” the statement read.
Councillors weighed in on the scandal online.
“Time is up for both Fords,” Etobicoke Councillor Gloria Lindsay Luby tweeted, referring also to the mayor’s brother and campaign manager, Doug Ford.
“Ford might rehabilitate his health but 30 days isn’t going to cure his racism, misogyny, homophobia & chronic tendencies to break the law,” Councillor Kristyn-Wong Tam tweeted.
“Anything less than a resignation at this point is too little, too late,” Councillor Jaye Robinson tweeted.
