I’m no fan of DoFo but I appreciate seeing him stand up for Canada and Ontario…I would have preferred to see a stronger response from JT but it’s not his style to react that way.

I wish PP would get onside rather than exploiting this crisis for his own political gain.

Once again can any of you idiots answer me how canada is suppose to enforce the US border ?
They can enforce the Canadian side to find smugglers crossing either way at non crossing points. Coordinate with USA Border Patrol for joint sting operations. Add more tech to detect Intrusion. And more.

It's not difficult to see things when you take off the partisan glasses.

This has got to be one of the stupidest takes I've ever hard.
Please, don't try to think, you might hurt what little brains you have.
It is much closer to the truth. He clearly stated it's a security issue. Plans to use the border security excuse. And who did Trudeau take down? Not a trade minister, but the Security Minister.

All Canada has to do is add some patrols, buy some tech and few choppers from USA vendors, announce a joint task force, and suddenly Trump will declare a win. It's all optics. And we get hopefully less guns crossing the border.

Why is this such a bad thing?

He will have too much push back from USA exporters, the Teamsters, and his own party to really do this. Everyone will want an "exemption " resulting in another watered down trade announcement in about a year, before the midterms, declaring another "victory" that will be little.

So relax, take out the emotion, and really wander down the thought paths.

I'm all for increasing military spending, increasing security at the border, but this is such bullshit on the part of Trump, who is not even POTUS yet.

I can't help but recall when America was taken hostage in Iran and several American diplomats were out of the office when their embassy was overrun by radicals and where did those Americans seek shelter? Yes, with the Canadians working in our embassy in Iran. CANADIAN Ambassador Kenneth Taylor and his people risked their lives to protect those Americans and the Canadian government stuck their neck out to save those people.

More recently there was 911 and a huge number of American passenger aircraft landed in Canada. Gander Newfoundland comes to mind and we gave those people shelter, invited them into our homes, fed them and welcomed them and treated them as family.

Then came the war in Afghanistan and once again Canada was there for the Americans. We fought and bled and died for the USA. That wasn't our war, but we paid the price. 158 Canadian soldiers died in Afghanistan. And now this?

Then hurricane Katrina

Supplies: Canada sent humanitarian supplies such as water, tents, cots, lumber, pollution clean-up equipment, and insect spray. Ships: The Canadian government sent three warships and a Coast Guard vessel to the Gulf Coast.
Search and rescue: Canada sent search and rescue teams, including the Canadian Heavy Urban Search and Rescue from Vancouver. Volunteers: The Canadian Red Cross sent volunteers to help the American Red Cross manage shelters and deliver meals. The Salvation Army also sent Canadian volunteers to help with relief.
Financial donations: The province of Alberta alone donated CA$5 million.

And now listening to this shit from the orange turd pile?

Next time the Americans can go fuck themselves.

SO in your mind, Trump imposing tariffs everywhere is taking care of his country???? This will help bring down the cost of living for an American? If so, please explain this new economic insight and I promise I won't laugh, okay, fine I lied I will but worshipping Trump you are used to being lied to.
He hasn't imposed any tariffs yet. He's only spoken about imposing them.

And just like that NATO is kissing the ring...Trudeau is kissing the ring...Time Man of the Year...etc...he's not even in office yet!

That is a leader.

You should read his book. You might learn something. Art of War as well. Get your nose out of Youtube for a change.

btw Where's Biden?

Idiots can't see something that's so simple

Trump is simply using the threat of a tariff to get canada and Mexico to beef up their border, he's not imposing a 25% tariff you clowns.
I'm really confused about this because most of the right extremists have been complaining about the illegal immigration into Canada from the US but now you are saying the problem is illegals going the other way?

p.s. Does Trump have a history of changing his publicly stated opinions on major issues?

On the actual topic, I don't know how strong a real threat this is as even though we have massive oil exports to the US, we import most of our gasoline from them as we got rid of most of our refining capacity decades ago.

We can't afford to have Governor Trudeau embarrass Canada any longer.
The cognitive dissonance that it must take to make a treasonous statement calling Trudeau "Governor", which if true means Canada has lost its sovereignty, while talking about not embarrassing Canada. lmao.

Do you want to make any bets about how well American consumers will do under Trump's tariffs?
What tariffs? Are you suggesting he's now and office and has imposed tariffs somewhere?

If not, and if you're talent is predicting the future, why don't you give me the winning numbers in the next lotto draw and then we can talk?

Unless of course this is the usual doom & gloom prophecy thing that's the only thing Trump-haters have left at this point?

I haven't violated the Canadian Charter of Rights so if you're so concerned about treasonous behaviour you may want to start elsewhere.

Um, lese majesty is not a thing in Canada. So the PM is subject to whatever name calling his little heart desires.

That being said Trump went to far on this one. That kind of undiplomatic language is quite uncalled for.

He can say what he wants sure.
I was characterizing it as treasonous.

If your only argument is that the tariffs Trump promised to impose on day 1 don't matter because Trump isn't in power yet...
