How is average speed, which may include times the trains are stopped, relevant to the cases being discussed here where the trains go faster than average?

Same as in my car, it notes my average speed, its not very fast. On the highway travelling at 140 km/h for an extended durations my my average speed barely changes. Just ask Tiger if average speed made his impact less impactful, same for the young lad that was hit by the train. All that matters is the speed at the time of the collision.

They drive at 50 miles outside city today
They drive as slow as 25 miles in certain sections of the city today

Who the fuck cares what the "average" of those speeds are???


There is no train in motion traveling at 23.61 mph
Not in Canada

Also as pointed out to you (and your inability to read) the speeds were FASTER in 2010 - 2018 (which is the time period you claim to source)
The speeds were LOWERED in 2020 to PREVENT more derailing accidents
