Hello,

Why are so many people having peanut allergies lately?
I am 52 years old and have been allergic all my life.

Not sure why but I am.

Could be a protein deficiency, Well it is come to think of it.

That was Dr. Doris Rapp's theory

As a teen I saw her as an allergist. First thing she said is buy my book and it is all in there.

IMHO she was a quaick and would have made a pitiful duck dinner
It's a theory that make sense to me as there are some people that take snake venoms to build up tolerances to it so why can't you build up a tolerance to whatever goes off when the peanut allergy chemical kicks in.

Trust me on this
if it makes your airway swell closed it might not be the path you seek.

Doris Rapp was a doctor small d and an AUTHOR capitol A

I might be the authority here on this one as well as Asthma and allergies.

You certainly have insight on this. When I talk to others about medical do's and don't, I tell them not to think the EpiPen is the end of the troubles. it just you a bit more time to find help.

52 years of dealing with is a bit more dramatic than a question

Actually many airlines have specific policies in place when dealing with a broad range of issues, whether it be an allergy or disability. The best way to find out is to check on the particular airlines Web-page for what their policy is towards allergies etc.

Calling in advance of the flight will also alert the airline to your particular need.

Delta Airlines for instance will create a ‘safe zone’ for you if you let them know in advance of your peanut allergy……. I believe its 3 seat rows front/back of the individual with the allergy, as well as offer peanut free snacks in that area.…..and an announcement will be made pre-flight letting passengers know of the allergy…….they will even allow YOU to pre-board and cleanse the area………

Once again, the onus is on the passenger as the airline won’t take liability (shocking concept ! )

In the end, please make sure you take your medication ( and/or Epipen) etc., and make the flight crew aware upon boarding, of your specific needs so they can react accordingly…..most will be very accommodating……………

I don’t think many people realize how serious some people’s allergic reactions can be….

Can I say that I am allergic to fat guys who really need two seats? One always seems to sit beside me.

EPIPEN is a great invention if you have it on you
Avoidance is the best choice
