K, I gotta ask this. Why do 99% of the ads state "no black men"? What is it?
Open to all other races but. What is it?
Perhaps a SP can chime in?

Recently while visiting with one of my favorites Sp's I asked just such a question. answers she gave were.

-attitude, apparently they have an entitled attitude about them.
-many of them try to not pay or not pay in full an it adds a hassle for the SP.
-greek, she said there's a trend for them to request greek, and she only offers that to select clients.
-Pimps, she said a lot of (black) pimps try to recruit by booking a girl and then just won't take no for a an answer.
-preference, some girls are just not into them, no different than not being attracted to Asian, latinos etc.
-she did mention that in her case, the only time she's had a problem client, they have happened to be black.

Good list...I would add another:

SP ad is actually posted by a pimp / manager and concern for item #4 below of someone trying to "muscle in" on their turf.

Most-likely these are all valid reasons.
I'd like to add that I am sure there are a lot of legit nice black hobbyist out there.
Just that it leans towards the risk rather than reward for an SP to see a black person.

Maybe if a black hobbyist don't mind going thru a sort of screening process.
A terb handle where you have shown your character and/or have a reputable SP who you have seen within the, say, last 2 months that can vouch for you.
etc...etc...
It's a hassle, but it seems more than a few bad apples in the black communities have been ruining it for the rest of the nice/legit black people.
It is what it is. Safety is always the main priority.

Good insights here. I should add that sometimes its not a race issue. There are ads by ebony ladies that state no black men. Just curious though, any one has an experience to share where this was tested, a black guy shows up, how it was handled. Hobbyist or SP, anyone?

Yes, me. The ones who do are respectful, kind and/or provide valid references up front. Never had an issue or had a pimp proposition me. I see quite a few black men but they never fit the description providers want to avoid.

I will say that I have a lower tolerance level for bullshit though and do not answer messages that begin with "Hey sweetie, what's up?" or "Hey sexy, when can I see you?".

That may be a bit more stringent but I hate that type of initial correspondence. Call me by my name, introduce yourself and state your inquiry and I won't profile you.

I do think 99% of the time, this behaviour can be avoided if you establish a certain rapport from the start and make sure you verify the person you are speaking with, in some way. People don't try bullshit with people they don't think it'll work with, most of the time anyway.

Definitely not true, at least from my perspective.

Sorry, I may get flack for this and so be it since it's the honest truth, but the majority of bad, unhygienic, rude, and disrespectful clients are almost always white men.

Everyone can have their preferences, and each lady will have individual reasons as to why she states that and no one has the right to tell her otherwise, but let's not pretend most of the "preferences" and reasons are anything but downright racist.

I am glad you have had great experiences. Unfortunately not everyone is as lucky as you with black hobbyists.

Conservative commercials have the same policy.
Seriously dude? You have to throw in some out of context comment to impose your political views in a thread that has nothing to do with politics? Comment on the thread or don't bother.

And that's fine and certainly true, and no one is denying anyone has had bad experiences with black clients but treating them as a whole group based on experiences with just a few individuals sounds a little off..you never see any "no white/asain/latino/etc men" in ads, yet they're all as likely to be potentially bad, rude or dangerous clients.
You can't tell me you guys wouldn't be shouting from the rooftops if you found out most of the providers in the city won't see you because they had a bad experience with a white client and won't see any now.

I'll comment on whatever the heck I want. Thanks.

And the point is nowhere near off topic. Exclusion decisions are made to appease a small minority in many forms.

i don't know about the attraction thing...if that was the case you'd see a lot of them say no guys that are x pounds overweight as i'm sure not all SPs like curvy guys ;)

Sex work is the one place I give racism a pass, and especially for escorts. They're allowing us to enter their body with various things. If they don't want people of race X to do that, fine. It's not the same as refusing to make me a pizza because I'm black, or refusing to supply a cake to my same sex wedding.

I am sure there are SPs that feel strongly about their security issues and being pimped, no question they have the right to pre-screen out potential problems. I wonder though if there are some who use the "no blacks" as a convenient cover to express their racial bias. Some of the language they use is borderline racist. Anyway, it is what ir is and has become normalized and accepted which is somewhat off-putting in itself cuz no other race is being singled out for this treatment in the escort industry.

Further ... I'm sure there are other categories of men that many SPs might also be put off by but are too rare to include in an ad (little people, those with disabilities, etc. -- I understand that there are most definitely SPs who will cater to these special cases, though, and they're awesome for that). Forcing (or encouraging when they don't want to) is getting into the "against their will" thing and is worse. Like I said, I give racism a pass here.

We had many threads on this issue. There was an article cited in one of the threads where a researcher did some interviews with pimps. The conclusion is that the pimps (most of them black, and this is true also for Ottawa) don't like other potential pimps to steal "their" girls; so they write the ad the way they like it. BY eliminating the black they eliminate a large probability that a pimp may steal their girls. Most of the time the girl has no say about the ad. Also, I was told that the pimps always choose hotels which have door "eyes" so that the SP doesn't open the door to a potential black pimp.
This is by far the MAIN reason why so many SPs don't like to see black people. The other reasons are very minimal. If it wasn't for the pimp issue, almost all SPs would see black.

I agree that black pimps (and white pimps also) are disrespectful, rude, violent and have a bad attitude in general. But most black people, in Canada at least, that I know are university educated, polite and very knowledgeable about a lot of things. I have met on several occasions black men during gangbangs and they were all respectful and courteous with the SPs.

Very few SPs have a preference not to see black men (it's their right), but this is a very small minority: may be 10% max, whereas about 80% of the ads in BP state they do not like to see black gentlemen.

I have discussed this issue with an indy SP and she told me that she puts it in her ad because she had black pimps at her door very often. She told one pimp that she didn't want to talk to him; guess what? he spent the WHOLE day on the stairs outside waiting for her (was there a song about something like "it's hard being a pimp"?).

Fortunately now, there is a beginning of a trend by indy SPs accepting black people 40 or older (sometimes 35 and older). These SPs noticed that pimps are usually in their twenties, may be early thirties, so they feel safe seeing "older" black gentlemen. Katrina is one of those and I have seen another ad on BP today mentioning this. Hope the trend generalizes so that black people can also partake in the hobby without being prejudiced.

This is complete bullshit, unless the black people she saw were pimps trying to recruit her; or she is a crackhead in a vey hostile neighbourhood (which then might be true). But one thing for sure she was not seeing the "normal" black hobbyist.

This is basically borderline racist, if not racist.

women should have sex with who they want. this is a business where consent or lack thereof can really mess things up. i don't know why the no black men deal exists and i don't care.
