Well, we all know someone wanted to expound his proof after Washington won the first game.
Couldn't even wait for the series to be over.
This is proof that whoever has proof of why Leafs lost to Boston doesn't have proof.
If Toronto had players like Ovi and Wilson they would beat Boston. That's the proof.
Well, Washington had both Ovi and Wilson and no they didn't win.
They couldn't even take Boston to 7 games let alone 6 as favourites to boot.
Leafs were underdogs. Each and every time they played Boston and each and every time took them to 7 games.
Without an Ovi or a Wilson.
I would say Boston beat Leafs because they had a better team. They had better goaltending especially in Game 7's. They had a better defense group and they had a better super line. Had a better 3rd line as well. Especially once Kadri got suspended, twice.
I certainly wouldn't use the word "proof". That would just be downright silly.
At least wait for Toronto to beat Boston before expounding any proof.
Here you go again with your silly and childish “proof” thing. I don’t remember reading any post in this thread by anyone else except you that repeatedly used the word “proof “ to prove anything. Just another example of your habit of making things up to make a point.

Wow! The Oilers blew a 4-1 lead and lose in OT. Only 4 teams came back from 0-3 down to win 4 straight.

1942 Leafs beat Redwings
1975 NYI beat Penguins
2010 Flyers beat Bruins
2014 LA Kings beat SJ

Oilers choke again. Its a sweep.
If I'm not mistaken, at least 3 of the Jets' goals were on Smith's glove side.

It's possible Connor McDavid could be the best player to never win the Cup. (Ovechkin has won one Cup.)

The Bruins are amazing. They lose Chara and Krug. They have been Cup contenders for at least the past 10 years and they don't have any $11mm player(s). That Irishman Bergeron is a sure bet HOFer.

There is no doubt now Matthews is more valuable than McDavid.
Come on...... there is not a single GM in hockey who wouldn't happily give up Mathews AND Marner for McDavid.

McDavid on his own is still a one-man wrecking crew. He can absolutely carry a team on his back virtually all alone, and in fact has during his time in EDM. While Matthews is a massive talent, I wonder how much of his success is based on his own performance vs. that of Mitch Marner in tandem.

While Matthews got a lot of press for the goals he put up this season, and his aggressive play, IMO it was actually Marner who has been the most valuable player on the Leafs this season. Plays hard both ways, good in the corners, good in his own end, back checks like a beast every shift, kills penalties, blocks shots, and one of the best set up men in the game. I think Marner on his own would still be a true franchise player. I sometimes wonder how much shine might come off Matthews if he didn't have Marner to grease the wheel.

I think Marner is a notch below Matthews........ but McDavid is on a level of his own. He has Dreiseital who is fantastic but I bet McDavid could run away with the scoring title even with me as a linemate.

If someone had said before the playoffs started that Matthews and Marner would have a total of 1 goal after 4 games.
