Sean McVay is supposed to be a brilliant coach. But when his team scored to make the score 31-26, a single point or a missed 2 point conversion would have required a touchdown to win. So he should have gone for 2 to try to make the score 31-28 so that a field goal would tie it. He elected to kick for a single point. Not a brilliant decision
I know.
What difference would it have made if an attempted 2 point conversion failed instead of PAT sailing through the uprights?
31- 26 compared to 31 - 27?
Wouldn't have mattered though as the LA defence simply would not have been able to stop Seattle with about 2 minutes left if the game was tied 31 -31 as evidenced by Seattle getting 3 first downs and basically running out the clock as they did.
Unable to stop Seattle on 3rd downs. Unable to force Darnold turnovers. Unable to wrap up tackles. DBs and LBs consistently 'juked out' and/or fooled by Seattle pass schemes thus out of position to make pass defence plays on Seattle WRs
Both defences scorched. The difference being zero turnovers and smothering pass defence by Seattle on 3rd and 4th down for LA inside the Seattle 10 yard line.
