That was my thought , plus I teased it with two TD's, + 21.5 points. 38 - 7 ! Come on man !
All I needed was for the Cowboys to not lose by more than 4, but No, the Cowboys offense took the night off.

Dak Prescott is paid like an elite QB, when he is not an elite QB. He's just a slightly above average QB, like Kirk Cousins.

I know you have been praising the new Tom Brady who currently QB's SF's offence since he came into the game vs. Miami when Jimmy G. was injured, but please let me highlight a few things before he is actually crowned the new GOAT:

1) He has now QB'd in 8 games thus far. 6 regular season games, 1 wild card game and divisional round game.
2) In those 8 games he has only faced a top tier defence, that being Dallas, in just 1 game.
3) With the new Tom Brady as QB, SF has averaged well over 30 points per game against those 7 mostly bottom to mid-tier defences BUT scored just 19 points against the top tier defence of Dallas.
4) Dallas has speed on defence and they mostly bottled-up SF's run game in addition to putting more than a piddling pass rush against the new Tom Brady as his other 7 opponents could and did not.
5) If Dallas has a deficit on defence, it would be it's corners and possibly it's safeties. One of the new Tom Brady's weaknesses, is that he struggles to throw and complete passes to the 2 outer thirds of the width of the playing field. If you have noticed, almost all of passes are thrown down the middle third of the field which the Dallas corners should have but but not defend well. Had Dallas done this the game may have been won by Dallas instead.

6) Philly does not have the deficit that Dallas has on defence. Their corners are all-pros. They also led the league by a wide margin in sacks. Their defence is top tier. If they a weakness, it may be in their run defence. Limit the run, pressure the QB as much as they have all season long and especially cut off the middle third of the field and force the new Tom Brady to throw to the outer 2 thirds of the field. That is their winning formula on defence.
7) Here's the other part: The SF defence does not do well against a team with a mobile/running QB and Philly has just about the best in the league. Also, the Phily O-line is legendary. Much better than the Dallas O-line and they will control the line of scrimmage against the SF defence.

8) So don't crown Purdy as the new GOAT yet, he has deficits, and they will be on display against SF. He is football smart, has situational game awareness galore, has starter talent but far, far away from becoming the new GOAT, let alone on a par with Burrow, and Mahommes and notches below Lawrence and Herbert and it mostly has to do with the strength of his arm which has led the Niner's coaching staff to limit his throws to the middle 3rd of the field.

This is how we discuss the game of football in an actual NFL Playoffs thread, and NOT by tossing out betting lines and then moaning and groaning or thumping and pumping about our bet results.
A lot of gibberish here. Brock Purdy was selected with the very last pick in the 2022 draft known as "Mr. Irrelevant." Which means no one thought he would amount to anything. Then he gets thrown into the lions den when Jimmy Garoppolo suddenly went down. He hasnt lost a game since. Dissect all you want but the facts are he doesnt panic and he doesnt make dumb mistakes.

His opposite number on Sunday, Dak Prescott, has been in the league for 6 years and blessed with a $160 million contract. Yet, he looked like the rookie yesterday with two costly interceptions and several errant throws. He had the ball with 3:30 to go and his team trailing just 16-12. He did not complete a single pass.

Brock Purdy might not amount to much going forward. But what he has achieved so far at the most difficult position in team sports is phenomenal.

And then there is the helter skelter Josh Allen, who people gush over with his incredible plays and yet folds when he faces elite competition. And then there is the underrated cerebral Joe Burrows, who sliced through the Bills defense on two consecutive touchdown drives to salt the game away very early.

I had a feeling the Bengals might beat the Bills, but I didn't think they would dominate them. Joe picked the Bills D apart, then the Bengals just ran all over the Bills. Nobody should underestimate Joe Burrow now, I certainly would take Burrow over Allen. If the Bengals can get past the Chiefs, I think they beat either the 49ers or the Eagles.

Joe Burrow is playing like Joe Montana. Brock Purdy is playing like Tom Brady. Both cool, calm, precise passers.

Burrow has beaten a healthy Mahomes three consecutive times. With a high sprained ankle, Mahomes doesnt stand a chance against Burrows on Sunday.

The Eagles have so many weapons and so do the 49ers. Its a toss up.

They showed a flash during the 49ers/Cowboys match: Das Prescott is -14.7% against QBs in the league when under pressure. And he showed it with 2 interceptions. Not the Cowboys QB of the future
I wouldnt say doesnt stand a chance - thats silly. The Bengals winning 3 in a row does not give advantage to the Bengals on that merit alone. All 3 games were won by 3 points and two of those 3 were in Cincinnati. Not sure about Mahomes injury but Mahomes will be so jacked up with a chance to go to the Superbowl a broken leg probably wouldnt affect him much. If the Bengals blew out KC a couple times I would say record is a factor, but all of these games were razor thin.

The wildcard game last January went into overtime. The Chiefs were up 21 - 10 at halftime then allowed 11 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter, before the teams traded field goals in the 4th. The Bengals won with a field goal in overtime. 27-24

Burrow outplayed Mahomes on the first of the last 3 games they opposed each other when the Chiefs squandered a 28-10 halftime lead before allowing 7 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter then allowing 10 points to 3 in the 4th - the Chiefs didnt score a TD in the second half of this game either. Burrow passed for 446 yards and 4 tds whileJamar Chase also had a huge day with 11 catches for 266 yards.

The 3rd and last time thy met was in Cincinnati December 4 2022. The Chiefs were down at halftime 14 to 10 before taking a 24-17 lead into the 4th quarter and scoring 0 points to the Bengals 10. 27-24

6 total 4th quarter points in 3 games for the Chiefs. For some reason they havent been able to finish against the Bengals. Are the Bengals winning these games by having successfui halftime adjustments? Andy Reid is no slouch, hes the 2nd best active coach today, so perhaps its Zach Taylor has more versatile to work with and can counter while exploiting the Cheifs personel once he knows their game plan. One thing is certain - Reid will have KC ready to play and not slow down until the final buzzer. Look for some gadget plays to get the offense moving if the Cheifs start to sputter in the 4th.

Looking back at the regular season, the Bengals have only beaten one good team this season - the Chiefs. They did beat the Bucs who did make it to the playoffs but they were a losing team and hardly considered a powerhouse and they also beat the Dolpins back in September, but neither one of these teams were considered any more than a very remote shot at winning the Superbowl.

in their last meeting the Bengals had more rushing yards, passing yards , time of posession, but the killer stats looked like 3 first down from penalties by the Cheifs, a lost fumble and a missed field goal. Kickoff returns for the Chiefs were considerably better than the Bengals, which may play a big part in their upcoming duel.

The Chiefs are a great team with a great QB. They are not going to be easily blown away. But a win by any margin under any circumstance is still a win. And the Bengals have won 3 straight against the Chiefs. That's the bottom line.

A healthy Mahomes posses a threat for any opponent. But he has a high ankle sprain and will be less mobile. On the other side will be Joe "Cool" Burrow and his LSU mate Ja'Marr Chase, ably supported by Joe Mixon (20 carries, 105 yards against the Bills). Those 3 destroyed the Bills in the snow no less. A win for the Bengals.

If I was a betting man, I'd go with the Bengals 3-0 vs Mahomes stat. I don't remember Joe Cool ever losing in January since he came into the NFL. With the rumour Mahomes is sitting out, the line went all the way to Bengals -2.5, - 130 earlier in the day. Bengals by 7 !

Everyone thought Tom Brady was Mr Irrelevant, he was selected in the later part of the 6th Round by the Patriots. Brock Purdy could be around for a decade or more, Jimmy Garoppolo could become another Drew Bledsoe.

The Bengals secondary is unreal, Mahomes will need a strong running game to break down the Bengals defense. Allen had no running game, his receiving corps was shut down by the Bengals fast Linebackers. After awhile Allen was getting hit by non-stop Safety blitzes. I'm not sure why thee Safety got penalized for hitting Allen's arm, it was a clean hit.

I heard that Mahomes is feeling better than expected and is definitely going to play, I'm still going with the Bengals.

Same with me. Love Mahomes and his genuineness and leadership but just feel like Cincy might be a team of destiny this year. High ankle sprains just don't bounce back that quick. His mobility will be limited.

Like Philly against San Fran. Like Hurts against the 49ers "D'' more than the rookie against a Philly "D'' that had a league high 70 sacks. Plus the Eagles had 4 players with more than 10 sacks. Get the feeling that Purdy's clock will strike midnight this week hard.

Looking forward to two good games on Sunday. I also like Cincy, however I am still thinking about the Philly/SF game.

Purdy is looking like the next Kurt Warner. Looks at the superbowl winners since Kurt came in as a grocery boy in 1999, in 2000 tent dilfer is perhaps the worst qb yo ever win a superbowl in 2001 an unknown low pick named Brady plays due to injury to Bledsoe in 2001 and wins the sb. Then journeyman brad Johnson wins in 2002 followed by Brady twice more, then rookie Ben Roethlisberger wins behind and unstoppable bus named Jerome Bettis. Then finally Peyton manning gets one in 2006. Brother Eli follows in 2007, reothleisberger again in 2008 journeyman drew Brees in 2009, Aaron rogers 2010, Eli again in 2011.joe Flacco in 2012 .

Some if rhese guys are forgotten so it shows you if a teams good enough it can protect a game manager qb and win.
