New England and Indiannapolis. Those are two hot teams! They were playing almost like they did at end of last season. New England played a fairly simple game but tight like a blues band. No mistakes. Indiannapolis continued with their multiple sets and different plays from each, Manning calling out all sorts of subterfuge, and making the third or fourth called play. Those teams have both the players and the coaches. It's rare to see in professional sports, specially at season opening.

Unfortunately, teams peaking so early usually get beaten in playoffs by teams peaking at season end. I hope not. Quality, intelligent play like those two teams showed should be rewarded. I guess we'll see in about 18 weeks.

As John Madden pointed out last night, Tampa Bay destroyed Philadelphia in its opening game last year, and look what happened to them. Conversely, New England got shut out by Buffalo (!) in its first game last year, and they won the Super Bowl. Bottom line is, this game is very tough to predict, and one week means nothing.

But I agree, it was a very good game. New England just seems to have Indy's number.
