Father was American. Mother French. Born in Canada. I don't ever recall the Canadian flag being identified with her name or her ever competing for Canada. IMO, a technicality.

Mary Caroline Pierce (born 15 January 1975) is a retired tennis professional who represented France internationally in team competitions and the Olympics.
