We called the Dentist in advance when we made an appointment to clarify the costs etc. They said that there is always a difference between what the Plans cover and what they charge.
This is true with even my Company's 100% coverage, where I need up paying the difference. Nothing new about it.
But the plan is much, much better than the seniors on minimum incomes have to pay the full cost and in my relative's case the $38 vs the $490.
Now even the link I posted when you scroll down to the "No Co-payment" explains it fully!! So what is your dentist bitching about?

Jane is 86 and lives in a retirement home. Her daughter helped her apply to the CDCP as soon as she was eligible. Jane has an adjusted family net income of $32,000. This means that she does not have a co-payment under the plan.

  • Jane has an appointment to get her teeth cleaned
  • Her provider charges $145 for 2 units of scaling
  • The CDCP established fee for 2 units of scaling is $134
  • The CDCP will pay Jane’s provider $134
  • Jane must pay the remaining $11 to her provider
Not enough Dentists signing up for this program. When the time comes, I'll guess I'll have to find a new Dentist. My Dentist says she has enough patients who pay "full freight", that she doesn't need to participate in Justin's dental program. It seems like she's not the only Dentist who feels this way!!

Another problem is price fixing in the dental industry. The Dental guide is not available to the public, which means no transparency at all, among Dental prices!!

Hey Mitchell, once again your link is outdated. As of today, if the Dentists accept the plans and bill the insurance companies directly, then that will apply to the Government Dental plan that is administrated by Sun Life!! A vast number of Dentists have now accepted the plan, as it is no different from the regular Insurance Plans. The dentists who opt to stay out will be the ones who will lose out!!

As of the middle of May more than 10,000 Dentists had signed up to the plan!!

So were the previous Conservative Government who had a higher income tax rate on the middle tax bracket, and either had higher or the same tax bracket rates for all income under $220,000, even greater thieves?

And before you go there, yes the carbon tax is flawed, but your point was about income taxes.
Yes they kept the rates the same as the Martin government had designed 15%, 22%, 26% and 29%. The Trudeau government lowered the 2nd bracket (taxable incomes from $45K to $90K) to 20.5% but added a 5th bracket of 33% that kicked in at $200,000 of taxable income. But they also eliminated several tax credits including the children's fitness and arts tax credit, public transit tax credit, education and textbook tax credit and income splitting tax credit. Plus they also enhanced CPP rates starting in 2019. The result was an actual decrease in income after taxes.
But when I use the term thieves I'm actually referring to the increase in the highest brackets taking the top marginal rate in Ontario from 49% to 53.5% since Trudeau came into power. Taking over 50% of one's income is theft and I don't care at what level it is.
