Agreed. This team was built to win it all. Rondo is still inconsistent but seems to be getting better and should be their point guard of the future.

I agree that they do not have any cap room to manouevre with until Ray Allen's contract expires in two years but I think you are misinformed about the draft choices. They might have traded away some of them but they still have both of their draft choices for this year. :confused:

That seems to make sense. The funny thing is that in other sports, the home team often has a real advantage (hockey - they get the last line change; baseball - having last bats is a tactical advantage in a close game; football - the crowd noise impairs a QB's signal calling. But it would seem to me that in basketball, the advantage is only psychological - unless the officials give the close calls to the home team.

Watching both teams play great D for two games, I firmly believe that the winner of the title comes from the East.

In the back of my head, I remember reading a story that showed with stats that this wasn't true. Might have been my imagination, might have been another sport but I am pretty sure it was NBA.

Lakers pound the Spurs. That was a blowout. I hope the game tonight is much closer. Boston needs to pull one off in Detroit.

The Pistons should do their regular routine

...and make this series interesting. I predict the Pistons will lose tonight with a lacklustre effort, and then be scrambling to win game four. The Pistons never take advantage of these kinds of situations, like winnng game 2 on the road

You definitely hit the nail on the head with that one...(applause). I am not sure about the game 4 prediction but we shall see.

All I know is that the Celtics pounded them big time. The bench finally did what they are supposed to do and score some points while KG and Allen were on the bench with those early fouls. Detroit should have taken advantage of the situation. KG was a force again last night and rarely does he disappoint (personal opinion).

I am not sure what to expect from the Spurs. That last game was horrible as the Lakers whipped them big time.

Deadnuts on! The game was so much like the most recent version in Game #1 of the Sixers series. You had an electric crowd and the team came out flat and unable to hit open shots. Celtics played well, especially some of the bench players, but it's to say the near 30% shooting was entirely based on BOS defense.

I'm waiting for the DET excuse that all the white shirts screwed up their shooting eyes. Not a Flip fan but I really don't know how this game is his fault. The coach can help a player get to an open shot but not make it. Chauncey with 6 pts? WTF.

Yep....crowd jacked up....home court..national audience...and the Pistons crap the bed...1 for 11 from 3 point land??...and you let the Celts run you out of your own building to start the game....this is the lament of a jump shooting team..when you don't have an inside scoring presence to go to when the outside shooters are ice cold. Something is up with Chauncey....he played one min less than the rookie Stuckey..and was hesitant to drive to the basket and get the Celts into the penalty..that's what allowed them to win game 3. My guess is that game four will be a tightly contested game, with the Pistons in a position at the end to pull it out...but they are playing with fire right now, lose game four and they're screwed...

On another note,at least Detroit has the Wings...but they also have the highest paid last place team of all time in the Tigers...and the Lions??...my gawd...what a decades long disaster they are...

It seems that this has been the year of the home court advantage. If it is that way, then Boston wins it all?

The Spurs played a great game last night. The player that really puzzles me is Lamar Odom who is quite a talent. Plays great one night and practically disappears the next. I am pretty sure the next will be closer.

Should be a great game between the Celtics and Pistons tonight. Detroit needs a healthy Chauncey Billups. Even though Rodney Stuckey has been quite good in his absence, he is not Billups.

Well...my Pistons...

...did exactly what I said they would....play well....Boston would keep close...and then have a chance to close it out at the end..which they did...Holding the Celts to 37% FG shooting...I'll have to guess which Pistons team shows up in Boston...I'd love to see the game # 2 team show up...but my guess is that it will be the game # 3 crew....Got a feeling this is Boston's in 7

Boston seemed like they were drained in the fourth quarter. Now they are going back home for game 5 and I am sure they will put on a better performance.

I see the Lakers putting on a better performance tonight. I am glad Odom is hanging his head in shame after game 3. It shows that he cares and shows a level of maturity that he has not displayed before. He is loaded with talent and that performance was unacceptable. I am sure he will play much better tonight.

Was it just me or was Game #4 of BOS/DET the most horribly officiated game in some time. I won't even get into the absurdity of the fact that BOS had a 33-15 FTA advantage at halftime and by no means show the aggressiveness on offense to merit that advantage. What really bothered me was the total lack of flow to the game. Plus seeing Pierce bitch about no call near the end of the game almost made me want to vomit. Brutal.

Get used to it. The NBA is going to do everything it its power to ensure a Lakers-Celtics final. They don't want a repeat of the 2005 Detroit-San Antonio final - TV ratings death.

Did you catch tonight's game? Same bullshit. Except it was the Spurs that were totally jobbed. Fisher practically dropped the Macho Man Randy Savage's flying elbow on Barry on the last play.

There were bad calls both ways. Tim Duncan scored on a clear travel in the first quarter. The calls seemed to go against the Lakers for most of the game, except for that last call, which was admittedly the biggest call of the game.

I think it's just plain bad calls. During the Toronto series, in one of the close games, Dwight Howard clobbered Chris Bosh late in the game on a drive to the basket and no call.

That's the NBA: every game you're bound to see some amazing athleticism, some play that doesn't seem humanly possible, and every game you'll see at least one call so bad that it looks like the game is fixed.

Yup, although it is usually the home team that gets the calls in their favour in crunch time.

The Spurs did get a number of calls in their favour in the first half (as is expected in the NBA (home-court-advantage central) but the second half was certainly skewed in favour of the Lakers, particularly in crunch time, which is odd - except for the fact that you KNOW the league wants the Lake Show in the Finals.

Poor calls made in both games but eventually it seems that the calls were more or less evened out. That was a blatant elbow by Fisher last night and I cannot understand why that was not called. I guess they didn't want the game to end in free throws.

I hope the game tonight is called more honestly. Detroit had more free throw opportunities in games 1 and 2 and Boston had more opportunities in games 3 and 4. That seems pretty even to me.

All I know is that Kobe is just an incredible player and I have not seen many players that are more driven than him. It was nice to see Odom play a much better game last night.

I can't see the Spurs win two in LA. This series is over.

That is disgraceful.... But thats also basketball. Think back to Last year when the Spurs played the Suns and they got away with a couple of calls.
