Yes, the girl Penny always solved every crime while Inspector Gadget, always clueless about what actually happened, took credit for it.

Inspector gadget. Chararaters. Brain, Penny and Inspector Gadget. I remember every episode pretty much had the exact same plot. Gadget is trying to catch Dr. Claw's mad agents and is always going after the wrong people. He always gets a self distructing message from Cheif Quimby which he somehow always manages to blow up Quimby with. Penny always gets kidnapped in every espisode and uses her computer book to communicate with brain to help capture the mad agents all the while Gadget is oblivious to the real bad guys and gets all the credit at the end for their capture.And which one was always the TRUE detective in this show?
