Not on topic, but the "Pizza Pizza" at Yonge and Elm has closed down, that was a busy place.

RONCESVALLES . . . . . . LIL POLAND

And Bloor West Village was traditionally Ukrainian which is celebrated annually like in the photo above.

Yes, the changing face of Yonge street continues.

Our descriptions of the city itself have morphed over time. Originally referred to as "Toronto the good" (a phrase forever altered by tragedies such as the rape and murder of 12 year-old Shoeshine Boy Emanuel Jaques by three gay men in an apartment above a massage parlour on Yonge street in 1977), to the Big Smoke in the 80s, to the TDot in the 90s, and now the 6ix as branded by Drake.

Those pictures bring back memories.
I spent some of my formative years growing up in Parkdale. If you knew how to look after yourself, you were fine.
I remember one night a street hooker approached me in Parkdale. I ignored her as the street hookers in Parkdale were pretty bad. Anyway, she ended up saying something like "I know you can afford it, the welfare checks came out today". I thought it was an amusing story of how people spent their welfare money.
