It was the original Sloppy Joe's Bar. Hemingway and his crowd ate and drank there. The food, you can guess.
I was being a smartass about the food but I certainly didn't know Hemingway and his crew hung out there, that's cool (I saw Midnight in Paris recently so Hemingway is sorta fresh in my mind)

Have you HAD Sloppy Joe's before? Seeing as you're an English bird - I don't imagine mince with ketchup on bread would be all that popular over there, though I guess it might be like having spag bol on bread (minus the spag)?

If you're still there, you should try "Blue Heaven" for dinner some time. It is very quirky, random chickens running all over the place and they used to have a tree swing in the middle of the resturant ( It is outdoor eating). Food is very good too. It is at 729 Thomas.

Thanks it is now on the list, and Hot Tin Roof is great, everything here is half in and half out of doors.
