Another question: is the current "Imvamune" vaccine effective against the new variation of Mpox named "clade 1b"?
Clade 1b is a fairly recent variation, much more transmissible and dangerous than previous variants, and as far as I could see not fully protected against by the currently available "Imvamune" Version 4.0 vaccine, which is basically a smallpox vaccine, and has been available since last February.
From what I read on the Service Ontario site straight guys are not eligible to receive the vaccine, even if they say they are seeing sex workers. Having male to male sex, or actually being a sex worker yourself, would seem to be part of the primary prerequisites to qualify for the vaccination.
