Anyway, not a bad period for me personally but I understand it was difficult for many.
There was a bit of an uproar when I mentioned I had gotten the vaccine. It was open to me because I’m a sex worker.
This vaccine had worse pain at the dosage site and took more time to recover from then the COVID vaccine.
Glad I took it though. Really, it is just the responsible thing to do when you work in this field.
They were super happy to see us. They told me to tell all my friends to come. You don't hear that often!
The support I got from the vaccine Center was amazing. They were doing both COVID and Mpox in the same building but Mpox was in a closed off section, they didn’t ask details about work. Just confirmed I was getting the vaccine because I was a sex worker. No other questions. They were so discrete. It was a really good experience
As a straight guy, who see sex providers only, it's a great relief to know that there are responsible sex workers who realize that getting the Mpox vaccine is the right thing to do, both for themselves and their clients.

It would logically follow (though not specified in mpox vaccine eligibility) that guys who have multiple sex partners who are SW should also get it. The mode of transmission (close skin contact) is not unique to only men who have sex with men. Like it or not, we are all horny bastards here and there is an overlap between this community men who have sex with men, even if you don’t.
Another question: is the current "Imvamune" vaccine effective against the new variation of Mpox named "clade 1b"?
Clade 1b is a fairly recent variation, much more transmissible and dangerous than previous variants, and as far as I could see not fully protected against by the currently available "Imvamune" Version 4.0 vaccine, which is basically a smallpox vaccine, and has been available since last February.
From what I read on the Service Ontario site straight guys are not eligible to receive the vaccine, even if they say they are seeing sex workers. Having male to male sex, or actually being a sex worker yourself, would seem to be part of the primary prerequisites to qualify for the vaccination.
