Is it safe to say you were not born in North America?Edifice said:Sorry, I have to choose North American football as #1.
I'm probably in the big minority here.
I don't know what the fascination is with that sport.
Second would be golf, followed by baseball third.
Did you mean English cricket or just cricket?oagre said:English cricket..............
Its all subjective and all about personal preference. I can watch football and basketball and baseball entertaining and can watch these sports all day. You argued that hockey has intrinsic excitement. What does that mean? Hockey has intrinsic excitement but football , baseball and basketball dont? Can you elaborate please? Football for me is my favorite sport, always has and always will be. Cant get enough of it. Though it probably isnt healthy to sit in front of the TV for from 11am until midnight on Sundays during NFL season but I do it and it doesnt even seem like 13 hours has passed. Seems to just fly by - for me anyway.emvee said:It took nearly 2 dozen posts for someone to mention cricket?? Do you guys realize that test matches last 5 days (and have about 5 minutes of action spread out over that duration).
Frankly, all of the above have their boringness attributes. I'd say hockey is probably the least offender though as it has intrinsic excitement.
Football (NFL) used to be my favourite sport by a mile but now I can barely watch it (or just pvr it and watch it condensed into a 1 hour game) - the action is just too spread out due to too many tv commercials.
Golf is my favourite sport now, but I could certainly see why people who didn't grow up with it find it boring. I often turn it off or fast forward though it if the tournament has no compelling stories.
I used to really like basketball too but now, same as the NFL - too spread out over stoppages.
Totally agree with you on the rhythmic gymnastics. Artistic gymnastics I can watch but rhythmic gymnastics, not as much.shack said:Rhythmic Floor Exercise (that silly stuff with the ribbons)
I find that playing a sport greatly increases the enjoyment of watching that same sport. Suddenly you can relate better to what's happening on the playing field and pick up subtleties that you might have missed before. Playing should always be the first priority but there's nothing wrong with watching.Cycleguy007 said:I couldn't find "All of the above"!
Don't watch sports... Get off your ass and DO THEM!
You must be crazy! Football is a gift, from the gods!Edifice said:Sorry, I have to choose North American football as #1.

WTF??? So then Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, Football are games also, but they are still a sport.bogo said:Golf isn't a sport it is a game. Not a fan of watching Baseball or Soccer.
Settle down Bandit all is OK. It has always seemed to me that any game you can play with a beer or with out sweating is just that a game not a sport. The Bandit said:WTF??? So then Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, Football are games also, but they are still a sport.
I'd like to see you drive a golf ball 300 yards down the middle of a fairway.bogo said:Golf isn't a sport it is a game.
