Don't show your ignorance ... this is not about language, politics, religion, nor colour ... this is about hockey. Period.
white flags = surrender. i think that was what he implied.
BTW- it is ok to call on a distinct social group by 'you people'... afterall, it is quebecois that want to be recognized as a distinct society and boo all that is not a part of. (whether it be your closest neighbours and friends in Anglo Canada or the US) ... the weird thing is, the french that settled in the caribbean and throughout the southern states aren't nearly as discivil as 'you people'... sure they enjoyed the rich's slavery brought them, but they resisted all temptation to be cocky and arrogant. in my opinion, they are the real 'distinct french'...
but, what do i know? i'm from a logging heritage family that spans across northern ontario and into northern labrador... over 400 years, my family has been settled, here- all cocky and all. i just think there is something wrong with how much 'our people' wine... can't say this, can't say that... whatever... and we are damn arrogant for no reason. us frenchies have small peckers- not like the irish and norse people. we're almost portuguese or italian... but, we are a distinct group of frogs.
i'll exercise my freedom not to cheer for the Habs. perhaps i am rebelling against my father and paternal lineage... i don't know. i've been a pens fan since i was a squirt- maybe it's my patronage to fellow french canadian Mario Lemieux and how he avoided the chance to be traded to Montreal, just as Lecavalier, Fleury, and a host of among others.
i do agree that the habs could go all the way... but, they do need to step up their play. 1 win is hardly enough to get arrogant over. but, that is french canadian to do so.
