Vick could probably be a good cover-corner, he does have the speed but I doubt he would be a good tackler. Cornerback is a difficult position to play though it takes a while to learn the position. Receiver, I could see that. STs perhaps in the return game he could be a threat.hammertm said:They just had a segment on the score about this and were saying Oakland was the #1 spot, SF #2 to be a starter and Seattle and New England as a back up/receiver/cornerback/special teams.
Troy Brown was so versatile, he could play offense, defense and STs. You know, it wouldnt shock me at all if New England got him. Belichick would know how to use him.hammertm said:Could become the new Troy Brown, but much much more talented.
Singletary would be a good guy for Vick to be around. I think Singletary could help him with football and with life.Bob Loblaw said:Vick will be back, someone will take a chance on him. There's a dearth of good QB's in the NFL and general managers in all sports love to take chances on reclamation projects.
I think Oakland is too obvious, and if I'm Vick, I want no part of it. Not because they're a bad team, but because when you hear Oakland might be interested, every commentator/expert says the same thing: "Al Davis has never shied away from taking guys with baggage."
I think that perception that would be there in signing with Oakland is counter-productive to rebuilding his reputation. Oakland signs him the football world just shrugs, "Ho-hum, just another Bad Boy for Raider Nation."
But if he signs elsewhere, then people will take note. It'll suggest that he is rehabilitated, that this team thought he was remorseful enough to take the chance and the heat to sign him.
If I were a betting man -- and I am -- I'd place a few dollars down on the San Francisco 49ers.
Belichick is also notorious for using players in multiple positions so he knows how to use players. How many times have we seen him use DTs as FBs or LBs as TEs (Vrable catching TD passes in SBs). Belichick could make good use of Vick's skill-set I am sure.hammertm said:Thats exactly what that Score segment mentioned, NE needs to compete with Miami's wildcat offense and Vick would be the perfect fit to do that with.
I'll say this, the CFL is a league that is tailor-made for the skill-set of Michael Vick.to-guy69 said:The NFL has a long history of taking numerous chances on athletes with all sorts of criminal records and he is still young enough (28) to generate enough interest. There is also the CFL too.
The NFL wont deny him a right to earn a living. Goodell will eventually reinstate him but no team should be forced to take him on if they dont want to. At that points it becomes a question of does any team want to sign him or not. Its not just a matter of whether he can still play well or not (and I think he can) but its a matter of is the team willing to deal with the backlash that could result by signing a man who did such heinous acts to animals.spankingman said:In the REAL world the man paid his debt to society. It was a STUPID thing to get involved in but its over now.
It might be interesting to see how this unfolds. Can the NFL REALLY deny him a right to earn a living at what he does best? Wonder how the almighty US Constitution will bear out on this one.
The Bills Marshyon Johnson was charged with a hit and run of a young Canadian girl, HE gets to play!! He could have KILLED her.
Dont forget though the return of the Wildcat Offense to the NFL last year (thanks to Tony Sporano) might make Vick more appealing to teams that want to run the Wildcat.soulsphere said:personally i think everyone deserves a second chance. he paid his debt to society...lost his potential earning....lost his past wealth.
but on a different point,
i doubt he'll be productive in the NFL as a quarterback..its not something you can just slip in and say "im back and better than ever". The room for error in the NFL is soo small and Vick was a mediocre passer to begin with. He just had a cannon of an arm and run speed. which im sure is all not as good as it use to be. maybe he'll be a punt returner. lol
Yeah, but that was harming only a human. Vick harmed animals and it seemsspankingman said:The Bills Marshyon Johnson was charged with a hit and run of a young Canadian girl, HE gets to play!! He could have KILLED her.

I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking doesnt he mean MArshawn Lynch aka Beast Mode. I follow football like a freak and I was thinking maybe there is someone else named Marshyon Johnson that I just dont know about or maybe this was some player from the past or something.pdson2 said:Who is Marshyon Johnson? At least you could get the name right. It's
Marshawn Lynch.
